just noticed that its windies vs Sundae in the ABBL relegation game.

two ex-league II.3 teams fighting it out. Sundae took out game 1.

Anyone have any thoughts on how I should line up against Akuma?

His team looks unbeatable

personally, id say you still have the advantage on the backcourt

who does he have coming in at SF?

Then again - who do you have coming in at SF?

Ott nor Duffill can shoot a 3pt to save their life, so its going to be interesting to see what happens at that position.

If you could have ur time again, a $100k SF/SG plus motion defence woulda defiantely put you at the advantage.

so IMO, its the backcourt thats going to make a difference.

Well time to pack up my 6.5 million and head back to Div 3. :(
I will hopefully be back sooner rather than later.

It's time to build some depth and balance to my team.
If anyone wants to buy my Aussie PG, let me know.

edited.... that would be better if it were posted in the correct thread (227453.1)

Id expect Akuma to play Duffill at SF but it is possible he could play Bonichini.

I guess I have a few options at SF (Ott, Donnelly, Williams, Ryder, Lie or Riviera)

Motion is definitely an option that Im toying with.

Not even sure what defense to play as there are a few options.

Akuma having HCA makes it almost impossible

What tactics and line up do you suggest I play?

Wow that is an impressive bank account, can't have gotten that from one season tanking in division II, I only saved $5,000,000 tanking a season in the ABBL. Well done and with that sort of bankroll as long as you have a good arena and trainees already in place you could go III, II and I. Good luck and stay incredibly good looking.

I recall him posting in a thread two seasons ago that he'd saved a few million. I believe he has $6.5 mil. What I have continued to puzzle over, however, is why he has not used this cash to rise towards ABBL glory?

i think there are many teams in this league who have cash stashed away - i think its a valid tactic to sit tight fora the moment, let Sid, Akuma, other peeps spend their cash fighting over the spoils of a probable short lived ABBL promotion, and bide ur time.

I believe that the number of teams that are doing this tactic now is bigger than what we think.

I guess that makes sense..although wouldn't you dip into that stash a little bit to stay up in div 2? It honestly wouldn't have taken too much to beat my team...only would have to pay 1 maybe 2 weeks salaries and maybe lose a little bit on the sales when/if you sell them off.

Each to their own I guess.

Yeah I didn't really plan this very well at all.
I was looking on the TL for players to bring in after All-Star week to fight off relegation, but honestly I was too picky and didn't just want to buy "rent-a-retards" for a couple weeks.
I'd rather spend money once and bring in players I would keep for next season, it's too easy to buy some rentals and then lose money on them. I basically, in the end, tried to think how much money would I be losing by relegating as opposed to how much would I lose on 1 - 3 rental players and I decided that relegating will make less of a dent in my funds.

Now I need to refocus, my trainee (Stephen) will be too old next season and he will also be a very expensive PG for div3 so I need to think about selling him.
getting new trainees for a couple seasons maybe and then make a charge for a 3-2-ABBL type assault.

See you soon Div II, I'll miss you. ;)

PEACE!
