I agree, we need a fed to build the potential of the Aus U21 and National teams.

Nah seriously, I already have 87 members in my other fed. The whole achievement thing was just a nice way to pass the tanking season.

I am serious about overhauling the current U21 and National teams training though. We certainly have the potential to have much better teams.

I did not even know there was achievements with starting a fed when I did. I only did it as the 20 people in Platypus would of lost a home had it not been ready to go.

Only issue with starting a new fed is people are limited to 5 they can join. I know as I am in 5 and would not be keen to leave any of them.

ill make a poll in a new thread.

Should U21 and National team start a new Fed, keep using off-site, or use existing Federation.

keep an eye out for it.

majority rule.

A non-supporter that wanted to provide input would still have options - BB-mails, etc. Could also keep the offsite running alongside a fed if there was enough interest.

yeh they could BBmail. but if all the NT stuff like skills tactics are in a private fed how do you expect someone who isnt a supporter to properly contribute?

Yes! This is a major part of my communal approach. Clearly I haven't been clear enough. As a very rough guide as to some of what I'm talking about here is some of what I have in mind if I decide to run and get the job:

Staffing:

Coach (1): The coach is responsible for the following:
1.Tactical choices for all games
2.Overseeing staff and their roles
3.Selection and exclusion of players for the team
4.Liaison with all staff

Assistant Coaches (2): An assistant coach is responsible for the following:
1.Assisting the Coach with tactical options prior to games
2.Assisting the Coach in all other matters

Mentors for 18, 19 and 20 year olds (3): Are responsible for:
1.Regular communications with managers, Australian and non-Australian, regarding their U21 players.
2.Creation of statements (in consultation with PR Manager) for Prospective Players and Current Players.
3.Providing managers of players with links to expected skills sets relevant for their player and age.
4.Providing managers of players with links to Experts for further advice.

Mentor for 21 year olds (3): Are additionally responsible for:
5.Providing advice/guidance for managers on how to prepare their players for NT selection.

Expert: Training (?): Will be responsible for:
a.Assisting managers in managing weekly minutes
b.Providing managers with training information regarding skills
c.Providing information on all things regarding training

Expert: Administration (?): Will be responsible for:
1.Providing managers with information regarding all things BB related other than U21 NT information.( For example, they may assist new managers with the use of the game manual, or provide managers with

Game Reviewers (?): Will be responsible for:
1.Reviewing games played and player performances.
2.Providing the community with a brief analysis of games for discussion.
3.Providing the Coaching staff with community responses regarding games to be considered for next game.

Public Relations Officer (?): Will be responsible for:
a.Providing the community with game results, player performances and brief analysis of games in a tongue-in-cheek tone with the sole purpose of engaging Aussie managers, providing them with some value for having U21 players.
b.Providing the community with upcoming games, the times they are played and possible rosters and roster changes.

Scouts (2): Will be responsible for:
1. Scouting up coming games (team tactics previously employed/player GS history etc)
2. Watching for players that are put onto TL to obtain skill sets etc

It all sounds good, but i do have an issue with the bolded two positions.

You have 1 person teaching managers one part of the game, the training aspect and minute management, and then you have a 2nd person teaching them other parts of the game. To me that seems messy. New managers need a single mentor to look to for information and help.

I just think that the mentoring of new managers isn't an issue for the U21 administration to be worrying about. It would be more beneficial to have its seperate mentoring system.

For instance in my short time on hattrick i noticed they had a list of managers who were willing to provide mentoring for new members, and as new members came along and asked for help they would be assigned a single mentor and they would be taken off the list, only being put back on when they deemed they have enough time to take on a 2nd noob or when they believe the previous noob no longer required their help. This way if you sign up to be a mentor you only have to worry about one other team/manager, thus making it a less strenuous job. Which i view as a better system to maintain than giving 2 or 3 managers the job of trying to mentor all the new managers who ask for help and find that these mentors are overwhelmed and their noobs slip through the cracks.

i may have been rambling for a bit, but oh well
