Question on game mechanics..
How is it that my opponent only had 2 more field goal attempts when..
1. I played patient
2. He played faster pace.
3. He had 26 steals to my 8.
4. He had only 11 to's to my 30.
Granted I had just 8 offensive rebounds going for me, i dontknow if they resulted in shot attempts, but still its just 8 =p
Clearly, intimidated by your shotblocking. ;)
On a more serious note, pace isn't really a factor -- in the absence of offensive rebounds, turnovers and the like, if one team shoots the ball as soon as they get it and the other takes the full 24 seconds, they'd still end up with pretty much the same number of shots (there'll be some variance in terms of end of quarter and all).
When you factor in turnovers, you lost 19 possessions compared to him, but you picked up 8 on offensive rebounds. And given that from a quick glance at the viewer, the last minute of the game your team was fouling, so your opponent was shooting FTs rather than from the field. That's probably where most of the rest of the difference comes from.
I half expect you knew all this, but maybe someone else didn't so I figure the response can't hurt. ;)
