Based on Salary/Age and Potential those two guards are the way to go. Single position training.

You have some really good talents there. Good chance of both of them making the U21 team in the next 2 seasons or so if you train them well.

Good luck.

I don't know a heap about training guards, but your SG looks like he could be fantastic. It is tough to know exactly what to train without knowing their starting stats. Single training wherever possible is the way to go.

Others might correct me...but it would be worth rotating through One On One, Pressure and Jump Shot. Jump Range and Handling will receive secondary training if I remember correctly.

You should also try and get a reasonable quality trainer. Lv4 would be good.

Yeah, Dowd and McArthur look pretty good at a glance.

Of course it depends on what their current stats are like but i wouldn't bother with too much One on One or Jumpshot training for their first season (no JS training at all really). For your first season i'd go with at least half a season of Outside D training (pressure) and then Passing for the rest of the season.

Then next season i'd alternate between One on One and Jump Range for most of the season.

After that you should have a couple of pretty killer young guys and can choose what you want to work on further from there.

Oh and if you're interested in what each training does and their secondary trainings, this is a good thread. It's not perfect but that first post gives you a pretty good table of what each does.

yea i agree with direwolf go with pressure training for half a season at least then training passing
ive found that one on one will increase your jumpshot within two weeks if you have good potential and a good trainer
as that is what my two guards were having pop along with there handling and driving
though without a good trainer rotate the jump shot training and one on one good luck with the players

Hello,

I just got my team not an hour ago. Im unaware if my starting team is better than/worse than the average starting teams that are generated. Any help regarding this, and any other parts of the game will be much appreciated. Please reply to this or BBmail me if you are willing (and experienced enough) to help me out.

Thank you very much

Wow, just joined up and you have Supporter already? Nice!

Doesn't look like there are any standout young guns on your roster so basically you'll just have to decide if you would prefer to train big men or guards.

Being so new, the very first thing i would do is check out the Manual and the Help forums though. Couple of important threads are here:

Hi. I've taken a quick look at your team and it seems there are a few reasonable trainable players there.

Forbes (19) and Gillmeister (19) at C and PF have some potential if trained as big men.

Morgan (19) and Humphries (22) have good potential as outside players as does Flitcroft (22). The problem is that at 22, they will train a lot more slowly than 18-19 year olds.

It's hard to know for sure what to train unless you know the exact skills of the players as some players could have high salaries with high skills in areas not complementary to their position.

Perhaps you could take a look at the transfer market and pick up a few reasonable trainees (18/19 age) for not much money.

The best plan is to use 1-2 players you have to sgtart with and maybe pick up some more and have a training plan.

Best of luck for the future!

Thanks for the help guys. I bought a lvl 4 trainer (all i could afford) and I have set up my training as PG passing and will give both my 18yo prospects one game at PG each week. If this is not the best way to train them let me know.

Also, is it wise to expand my arena? Anything else it is important i do?
