I got to say I think Pepe Sanchez is the best point guard in FIBA basketball history, I just love the way he plays, he is an "all about the team" player, and a great guy too! :D

No he was not. That tittle goes to Papaloukas or Diamantidis. I hate the 1st guy he is playing for Olympiacos, and i am fan of Panathinaikos, but on his prime was the best player in Europe. Diamantidis from the other hand, doesnt has his court vision, but can do everything else better. 3pt? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5b56xa90BQ the most clutch play on the Greek basketball history among with the FT of Kampouris back to 87 on the European finals against USSR. D? 4 times Euroleague best defender...

I respect Pepe but he is nowhere near to those guys...

Edit: Jasicevicius is rated much higher than him too...

I almost agree. I have to say MJ was the greatest of all time but Pippen was my favourite. Watching MJ and Pip on a fastbreak was the best thing on basketball ever and due to both of their outstanding d there were a lot. The way Pippen would just explode to the basket from nowhere and just dunk on anyone with those long long arms was incredible. He could defend positions 1-5 except against the very fastest guards and the biggest centers. Anyone remember him guarding Magic?

But MJ was the best. Ever. Anyone that thinks different just wasn't watching in the 80s.

How can you say this when you probably never saw Russell or Wilt play? Or George Mikan for that matter? I think its almost impossible to compare players from different eras...

Especially given that the bulls never even won a title until the 90's.

Well, I think Wilt only won one title. On the other hand, Russell won like 9 or 10 and Mikon won 7 (some in the pre-NBA days).

Impossible to point to titles and use that as a be all and end all of this conversation... otherwise Rob Horry'd be in the discussion!
And anyway, isn't the topic "your favourite player", not "who was the best ever"?
Two very different conversations... but my favourite player? Hmmm... I have two (for different reasons): Kareem, and Magic.

Big Wilt. No one completely took over a game like that monster. His book was an interesting read as well.
