This is why it doesn't work, the potential growth of a 18 years old and of a 19 years old are very different,so the TPE should not compare those two players.
It doesn't! It estimates a single players potential sale price based on current market trends of players with similar characteristics. Never have I used it to compare the 2 players...
And working only on the highest skill mean that you have no idea on the players that the TPE consider
If a player has marvelous JS,but inept in Od can't be compared with a player marvelous in JS and marvelous in OD
Firstly, a guard with marvelous JS and inept OD (both primary guard skills) would sell for much less than one with marvelous OD. It would most likely tell you that the player is probably the worst of the players the estimate is generated on. But when have I said to neglect primary skills and concentrate on a single skill?
Secondly, a tall (what this discussion is actually about if you didnt know) with marvelous JS and OD would take seasons of training solely on secondary training and would be a massive waste as C/PFs have no use having such a high OD level. How many inside C/PFs have that level of JR and how many outside shots do they take? Also how many 18-19 year olds do you see with any marvelous secondary skills?
Not only have you gone of topic as well, but you are adding more variables that have no connection to the player this thread is actually about. I have said that a player that is 18-19 with less than average secondary skills is better training primaries for value of their immediate sale price. I have never said the TPE isn't flawed, but it is what similar players have sold for recently.
