well, Douglas will have to play more pg now and this might be a problem. felton was averaging 38,5 minutes so far while Billups 32,3 . it's clearly a matter of how good they can handle their minutes.

6 minutes a game means less than 2 minutes every quarter,Douglas and Carter can handle easily these few minutes

I think that Ainge would have pay him that money, probably there were some issues on some option in the last year of the contract(we don't have to forget that Perkins had major injuries in the past,so he would aim to a fully guarantee contract)

I believe Perkins turned down a 4 years, $22 million offer from the Celtics this season. Which, to be quite frank, is pretty insulting.

OKC are rolling the dice on Ibaka's offensive game improving, and Harden continuing to do the same.
Definitely think it was a good move.

I don't think Boston had any cap space (under the hard cap) to sign Perkins to anything more than the relatively low amount that they offered him so they were almost certain to lose him in the offseason as well unless they cleared up some space somehow from what i've read.

I'm an OKC fan and a little sad to lose Jeff Green as he was a good all around player but he didn't really fit properly at PF and Perkins sort of puts everyone in their place a little better. I think bringing in Nazr Mohammed will prove to be a pretty good move for us too. Overall, there's still a lot of improvement in a lot of young guys but i love where we're heading.

Oh I like it.
Arguing on another forum that Boston would have been better off sticking with Perk and just letting him leave. I'd say that their window is this season, cannot see them doing much post this one.

What the trade tells me is this: Boston don't really rate Orlando, nor do they envisage themselves meeting them in the playoffs. If they did, they wouldn't make this trade.
With it, they're marginally better against Miami than they were... maybe.
But the rise of the Bulls could really throw a spanner in this for them, as if the standings stay as are, then Boston well might meet Orlando in the second round. And that could be quite a tough match up... depending on how the Magic's shooters fair.
