Yep.
Hardcored all 5 books over the last 4 months. :)
Dance with Dragons ends on a thriller and with a lot of questions left unanswered.
Can't wait for the next one!

Yeah its gonna be a looooooong wait!! Damn I wish he would write it quicker but I heard he withheld some of the chapters for the next book so his already got a start on it already. But he won't have as much time for writing given that he is taking a more active role in the TV series.
Wait till you get to the end of the book....then you'll be wanting more!!

Just bought the first book and up to the second last episode of the series 1.
I've got to say, I still find myself constantly underestimating the vindictiveness of the characters. Completely expected that little weasel Joffre to let Ned Stark off the hook. How wrong I was. lol.

Thought i'd bring this thread back to the top. I am balls deep in GoT goodness at the minute. Picking up the rest of series 2 tonight after watching the 1st 3 eps of it on Wed night.
Knocked over series 1 in a few days and i was hooked.
Question for you all. Should i start reading from book 1 or jump in at book 3 once i have knocked over the series?
I don't know if i'll enjoy the books as much given i know the plot but i figure some of you will have done both and have an opinion to offer.

Yeah, definitely go from book 1. The tv series is great but you never get the whole story in a tv adaption and as always, there are things left out that you miss unless you've read the books.
Basically, you think the tv show is great? Read the books!

I have bought the books but I hear they are very detailed, maybe a little too detailed and a bit Silmarillionish. I think I will have a second watch of the series first (and see the second half of season one).
I just read the Hunger Games trillogy and liked about 2/3 of it. It was interesing to hear that LeBron was also reading that series during the NBA finals as part of his staying calm and relaxed uring the playoffs (no twitter, no facebook etc just books wow, maybe us English teachers do know something!).

What is Hunger Games about anyways? I've seen the movie but still don't get whats so good about it...
Maybe its just the wrong genre for me.
But since so many people are reading it, I'm guessing the books are a lot better then the movie.
Common give us GoT season 3 already. I want to see the red wedding and the shock on peoples faces LOL
