That will depend, are you intending on staying in the ABBL this season? I'm hoping I'll be doing a write up on myself next season!!! :-P

Not unless something unexpected happens. I am tanking hardcore and making just over $500,000 a week (including cup money) so that I can do the same as the Smeltztroopers and Hopelessly Addicted, promote, tank, relegate, promote, stay.

HA didnt tank in the ABBL his first time up.

He kept a 300K player Mijac on his roster to long and fought all season and right through the relegation games in an effort to stay up.

He won six games for the season beating some good teams.

He didnt start last season with millions in the bank he actually started the season in div 2.II with a negative bank balance.

What he did do during his time in the ABBL first time round was hedge his bets a little and buy some good value for money players who gave him good depth when he started in div 2 so that he didnt have to upend his roster but that he could sell at a profit when he needed to, win the games that matterred so that he could get his fan survey up, plus he took a lot of care with stadium pricing.

Last season wasnt won on stashed cash

You are correct. HA didn't have millions in the bank they had millions on the court so were ready to compete right away.

Next season I will hopefully have Barton to double prodigious so he can start and still be trained without hurting me at all unlike last time. I still have Oliver, Vallo and Mu to round out the guards and backup SF. This season in the second half I plan to buy a great SF. "That thug Sherwin" is young enough to come for another run. Larbi is an ok backup. So I will need to buy a top PF, probably after the trade deadline when I don't pay wages.

I hope I go to another division II because I think this one is tough. But wherever I will be I plan to win and if I do I will arrive in the ABBL with an ABBL standard arena and team unlike this time.

Im sure that you will bounce back

Believe it or not HA was turning a profit until the time that I did sell a couple of average players and brought 3 guns and if Im not mistaken teams like Drunken All Stars and South Brisbance Voultures would have spent more on players salaries for most of the season that what HA did.

Not so confident about staying up this season though.

Probably only making about 200K a week and whilst my starting 5 is very good Im still a couple stars short of having enough depth to be top 2 in the conference.

Saving 200K a week is not enough if Ive gotta fight relegation games.

HA is part way inbetween being seriously good enough and not being good enough and having the smarts to tank

It isn't that bad making 200k a week and competing. I probably could have come close to that but I think in order to get a long term ABBL team that can get there and stay up this is for the best.

I would just like to point out my SG's triple double game tonight. I know Lordy tanked it hard tonight but still, this guy was my backup PG/SG last season and he's back starting this season.

Tonight he did this:

25pts, 7rbs, 10ast, 10stl

Interesting look to the Big 8. Top 5 all on 3 wins and another 2 teams a win back.

From my and your point of view, I have to admit I am liking that close competition happening on the other side. First 5 teams on equal games, with Snuffies coming on strong after their recent purchase (and knocking of Vics tonight).

We're now two games ahead with a huge PD bonus, so hopefully that will mean we're looking good for HCA in the final series! Long way to go until finals but great start so far.

if I sell my superstars I might just sell off my roster, buy a lvl 7 trainer, start training my SFs...
