Seems like the days of the 1.3mil salary teams that Bryce churned out are over. Need to be a lot more frugal with your money now then ever before.

not necessarily. If you trained a couple of high salaried players you could easily still run a $1mil salary team without paying the tax. 2 x $200k salaries, if trained from say 18 or 19 would give you close to 400k in salary exemption. Managers just need to plan better as well as train long term if they still want to do it that's all

I am not pulling the tanking trigger yet. Need to get a sense for how much of a roster I can carry and still make some cash. Traded out some young talent (prior to the tax announcement) and made some upgrades so will see how I go for a bit. Good luck.

1.3 mil roster means you will be leaking around 400k per week since the highest revenue would be around 900k per week. Still a lot of dough LOL

I guess the exemption only affects teams that buy up during Cup finals and before the PO. The teams with the trainees can buy up more then the teams without trainees.

At the moment I'm pretty sure no one in the ABBL will be paying the tax exemption in the second week.

Not sure how accurate this is but this is this seasons salary at the first economic update:
Team | No. of Players | Salary
Koopasaurus 12 $ 942 513
Chelsea Seagulls 17 $ 841 874
Urmummas 10 $ 830 094
Stone Slashers 12 $ 821 541
Whompas Donkeys 12 $ 755 445
That%s How You Get Ants 13 $ 730 323
Black Label Society 19 $ 707 596
North Carlton Cavaliers 12 $ 628 538
Monkey Business 16 $ 615 535
High School Drop-outs 12 $ 615 326
Aussie Pride 15 $ 580 971
Vios Violationers 14 $ 578 027
WA IS A DUMP 15 $ 566 226
Guanzheng Goldfish 17 $ 502 945
Yarra Park Bears 13 $ 493 996
Persepolis Immortals 16 $ 441 430

Big 8
Stone Slashers is tanking with a 800k+ salary team.
Persepolis will make top 5 again in his conference with a near salary floor team.
Monkey Business is goneski.
Thats How You Get Ants and North Carlton Cavaliers arent backing down so easily.

Great 8
Top 4 salaries in ABBL since stone slashers is selling up.
Goldfish and YPB are semi tanking?

Some very interesting statistics for sure.

I am also trying to shift $130k worth of salaries with selling Lin.
However, I will need to buy some new bench bigs once he's gone.
And I'm always looking for a more ABBL standard PG, however Mark Edwards a great guard at the moment.

Not semi-tanking but just waiting for the right players to pop up. If time starts to run out, i will buy whoever, and hope it's good enough.

The pirate age is over. The only pirates left are the ones in Disneyland. They are harmless.

Even if he is at the salary floor in division II, Whitebeard can TIE, TIE and then CT with his best team at home. You can't tell me that isn't dangerous. Why wouldn't he want $50,000 extra?
