I entertained the idea of buying Grierson or whatever the name was, but then someone bid 4.4m and frankly better big men have gone for less these days. Never fails to amaze me how people overpay for English players. Maybe they see us as a micronation. Also paying 4m+ for 200k+ salary players is madness.

yeah one guy clearly wanted him. But to be fair, he's pretty much guaranteed an NT spot

How many players do we have that are actually NT calibre? What about the next generation as it were? Are there enough players coming through in all positions?

Maybe Vecx can try to do some kind of depth chart as he used to do in the past (I think). We're not a big BB nation, so the pool of 24+ year old players must be reasonably limited. It will require some effort after the election is over.

it was more that the auction ended at 4am and the guy just overpaid so that he didn't have to show up at the time.

Top quality, 8, of which 2 are bigs. Good NT players, probably another 5. Then when you look at ages, you'll see the team is not an old team, we have some good 25-29 year olds of whom if we assume they will still be trained, it bodes well for the next few seasons.

I've got my own chart, you are correct that we are not a big nation. This makes us much more dependent on the good players we have being in great shape and being consistently trained, even as they age. aiming for 130+ tsp should be the goal of any HoF player.

Agree with this completely. Broadly agree with Lemon's points too.

To anyone whos actually trained a 130tsp player, what are the start of each year TSP benchmarks you should be at?

Useful for others to know, but also I've got Tewari in my main team and I just picked up a 19y old HOFer (English) in my Utopian team, and I want to train them to be the best they can be. (on the other hand, the 2.8m TPE for Tewari could be tempting if I feel I'm not getting anywhere special with him...)

It varies with what you are training, if you are training one on one it will go up faster, but at the same time I advise training the slower tougher skills first, because as your salaries get higher, winning and promoting becomes more important.

I'll give you an idea with Innes, here are his starting tsp's by age at the start of each season.

18 - 61 tsp
19 - 69
20 - 80
21 - 92
22 - 102
23 - 112
24 - 121
25 - 128
26 - 136
27 - 142
28 - 146
