Woo Abimbola for MVP! Nice! Another trophy to add to my little (but hopefully growing) collection.

Yeah I read the new salary floor as 129k x 1.4 = 180k odd

i think this was a bandaid fix and isn't really going to stop tanking at all. I tanked for half a season this season - my salary was still around 170k or something so i was still well above the floor (I didn't want to get rid of some of my key players). I still made a ton of money.

Honestly, I kind of think it was a pretty lazy fix. It took no effort at all..just a change in one of their variables. I would rather see them do something like adjust the cutoff date for playoff eligibility (as suggested by Matt), as that is the root cause of the problem, and one that causes much angst for people that have been competitive all season (i.e. those that should be rewarded).

Well I never claimed my maths was brilliant, at least I gave my best shot! :-P

I for one am much happier about the $180k salary floor, that keeps my dreams alive for tanking next season! Never had a go at tanking before and am ready and willing to try something different after 16-17 seasons. Apologies in advance but I think I've earned a season off.

Congrats on the MVP - he did have a pretty damn good season and deserved it I reckon!!

I agree in that it is just a bandaid fix that really won't stop anything IMO. But I guess at least they have acknowledged it as an issue and maybe this will lead to a better thought out solution down the track.

i have read in the past that this Wall bloke is a massively foul prone player. However my two guys averaged more fouls a game lol. that does not bode well for me

Hahahah yeah he was number 1 in the world for personal fouls at one point in the season. but he seems to have calmed down and only fouled out like 9 times in this home and away season. hahah

I even have the inside goss on the relegating ABBL teams. Baxter Bogans will be the worst, they have a fortune and plan to go 22-0 and bounce right back. They were at the salary floor all season and have the money, will and expertise to do it. Second worst would be hopelessly addicted, they have also been at the salary floor all season but spent a fortune on trainees and may be planning to train for a season but they may do it while going for promotion, they certainly are rich

Would be nice to drop back into my old stomping grounds.

Focus for the season might be training, although it would be nice to get back up to the ABBL if this could be done without disrupting training

Reality is that I continue the training strategy Im at least 3 more seasons away from being really competitive back up in the ABBL, back Im never one to knock back a mill for promoting and the bigger crowds and TV deals available in the ABBL

Bit surprised Yoda that you think Triksters loaded.

I think most of the season he would have been 125 to 100K over the salary floor

What bank balance do you think he'd be sitting on?

3 to 5 mill, 5 to 7.5 mill, 7.5 to 10 mill or 10 mill plus

Probably in the three to five million category which is the lowest but look at the roster he already has. Probably needs tow more players and certainly has the funds to pay them all for the season, that is why I consider him so dangerous.

He certainly appears focused on bouncing back where Im a little bit unsure.

I hope to maintain the stash and focus on training but that said my roster is above Triksters in cost and most my players have good secondaries

I suppose I could set a record for the most times promoted to the ABBL. If I promote this coming season it will be my third promotion. Id probably demote back down and then definately bounce back the season after (making a 4th time)

I suppose the downside on such a record would be that id also hold a record for the most times demoted from the ABBL.

But on the positive it would be 2 mill in promotion money in 3 seasons
