I have to believe our Div IV is up there in the toughest. Last season a guy who spent 11 seasons in Div III couldn't win it all, or even make it to the semi's, and there team is no joke. We also have 7 within the top 710. It is also very active with our lague forum having 121 posts(121!), which is abnormally high for a div IV. The users that have played in this league for 5+ seasons can't catcha break with all the talented promotees(3 of them made the playoffs(me included:)) and 2 made the semi's), and, like I've already mentioned, the extreme talent the Div III teams bring down. This division also seems to have every team develop through training their prospects, and not buying their etire roster, so the teams get better as the season goes on, and then before the plyoffs start there are always 1-2 large buys, so then HCA means almost nothing. Not to mention there is two U-21 caliber players.

That is tough . . .

As a follow up, are you seeing any changes in your league because of the economic changes in the game over the past couple seasons? It is getting very difficult to turn a profit AND compete against D.III teams coming down. I am having a difficult time with training - because of salary issues. I have a couple inside guys who I would love to train to be more dominent inside players . . . but if I get their ID/IS/RB to prolific or above, their salaries pop to over $35K each.

Well I got a 21 y/o center with 45k salary, and if I continued to train ID/Reb/IS his salary would inflate to around 90k next season. Well that is bad, so this season I am getting some JS and 1v1 training in for him, so he becomes more versatile, and so his salary isn't deadly next season. I hope to make a run this season, but realistically I may be 1-2 seasons away.

The Div III relegee has a very high team salary. a 40k center, a 30k SG a 25k SF, so I'm curious how they are going to maintain it.

D.IV 12-through 4

Big 8
Suns4life(2-2) 106- Bostn(0-4) 77: Suns get a big road win to help with their PD.
ATL(3-1) 80- Xenia(4-0) 95: At home Xenia gets a solid win to prove who the class of the Big 8 is with wins over the other top 2 teams.
Twobit(1-3) 88- Pinoy(2-2) 105: Pinoy gets back on track with a good home win.
Bullseyes(3-1) 73- Firestorm(1-3) 67: Surprisingly close, still a win is a win, especially on the road.

Great 8
Cappers(4-0) 99- Iowa(1-3) 85: Cappers get a solid road win to stay unbeaten.
Droids(4-0) 94- Blue(1-3) 70: Same as above.
Venom(3-1) 105- GTown(1-3) 95: Venom gets a road win to take advantage of easy start and build a lead in the race for 3rd.(On a 2nd look Venom put more into this game than GTown, so I'm actually more impressed by GTown.)
Scarlet(1-3) 94- Wall Street(1-3) 98: Wall Street picks up their first win at home in a tight game.

Upcoming Games To Watch
Suns@ATL: Seperated by only 2 in PD can ATL stretch the gap record wise?
Droids@Cappers: Biggest match of the season to date between 2 of the 3 undefeateds duking it out for first, Droids have looked better so far, but will home court make up for it?

Other Notes
5 teams at 1-3 in Great 8 looks to make for a great playoff race for the 4th seed, and I'm not sold on 3-1 Venom being above it either.

Teams still in Cup11 total, 7 Big 8, 4 Great 8
Xenia, ATL, Bullseyes, Suns4life, Pinoy, twobit, Firestorm, Cappers, Venom, Iowa, Scarlet

Well still in the tournament. Barely got passed my DIII opp. Looking at the line ups I should have won by more, but a few of my players game shape just wasn't there. This was definitely a case where scouting paid huge dividends. I wasn't even going to attempt to win this game until I looked at his last 2 games and realized that he had already maxed out his minutes on his best players. Meaning he couldn't play them in the cup game without ruining their gameshape. So I took a chance and pulled it out!

Hopefully, I get a good draw for next weeks cup! Hope everyone did well!

Amen to good cup draws next week

I won by 40ish when I CT(an the TIE). I was originally going to normal but then i saw there 40k center had only played 55 minutes. He did start but it made no difference. This was actually bad because I was up so big, the players that couldn't get more than 20 minutes played all of the 4th, so there GS tomorrow will be down the crapper...

Yea, I normaled against another normal. Only won by 7.. But he was ranked 250ish and I was 1350ish, so I'm pretty proud of myself. :-)

Although, his line up was 1 40k salary guy and the rest 6k-3k guys. lol But still, I'm still alive and I get 50k$!

I'm extremely jealous of the people who got DV and DVI draws though... Soo not fair.

Looks like I'm out of the cup early because of a DIII draw...Everything else seems to be going well though...I'm 5-0 and probably have one of the better DIV economies:

Baseline Weekly Economy
Expenses Revenue
Player Salaries: $ 70 356 Attendance: $ 145 779
Staff Salaries: $ 24 755 Merchandise: $ 26 571
Scouting: $ 0 TV Contract: $ 66 875
Total: $ 95 111 Total: $ 239 225
Typical Weekly Net Income: $ 144 114

League Averages from Last Week
Expenses Revenue
Player Salaries: $ 100 917 Attendance: $ 95 846
Staff Salaries: $ 58 358 Merchandise: $ 25 948
Scouting: $ 13 076 TV Contract: $ 66 875
Total: $ 172 351 Total: $ 188 669
League Average Net Income: $ 16 318

I've been able to manage my enthusiasm pretty easily as well...I don't think I'm going to try and vastly improve my team and go for a championship this season though, as I'd rather get to DIII with a lot of money and a more developed team than I have now :)

That is unreal that you are 5-0 with that team salary. Gameshape must be your friend
