So whats your point? Justifying a flaw by mentioning another stupid "feature" is not the smartest thing.

And as far as I understand it real world FT shooting is somewhat of an untrainable skill.

Just that using "realism" as a determining factor of how the game should work is also, in your fine words, not the smartest thing - imagine the uproar if the games economy were tilted toward the top teams and leagues as it is in real life.

As a game concept, FT is being treated like any other skill - if you want it to get better, you train it. If not, you don't. Where there should be improvement is that the curve should be such that low skills should occasionally hit FTs and going up from one to three shouldn't represent such a major improvement. But there's no reason at all to say that it should be trained along with JS or the like, especially since it's the easiest skill already to train.

Im just a little frustrated as to why it cannot be correlating with jump shot and pop after every 3-4 pops for jump shot. I think that would be very reasonable. In no way shape or form should they ever go pops by number of free throws made..

I thought this was quite reasonable too but apparently, I was wrong.

The only thing keeping them from being correlated now is the choice the user makes. It is extremely easy to have a player's jump shooting and free throw shooting correlate in BuzzerBeater, you just need to train free throws. You don't even need to train free throws nearly as much as you are training jump shooting.

Some of the EXTREME stats in BB are just silly....0-1700 from the FT line is just stupid.
I saw a player in the bin three seasons ago who never had an assist in over 100 games. That is crazy, even Carmelo has an assist every once in a while.

But a player at absolute zero in rebounding skil still grabs rebounds. It's only assists and FT's that absolute zero appears to mean zero. I'm not even sure if there's an absolute zero on 3 point shooting.

I'm not even sure if there's an absolute zero on 3 point shooting.

Far from my worst player, Canadian hero Vardis Sourpiss (18733826) only made 6 of his 203 shots last season. (surprisingly half of those makes were 3s). For a shooting percentage of under 3%!!!

That's pretty close to zero. (Way lower than lucky fan FT % or expected lucky fan field goal %.)

Skimming through this thread kind of late.

To the argument that training JS orJR should improve FT shooting... then shouldn't training FT shooting improve your jump shot too? How many all time great FT shooters can't make an open mid-range shot?

We should be able to train FT for an entire season & have a team full of competent shooters, right? That's no more silly than training JS & expecting FT increases...

Shouldn´t then the REB-skill be correlated as well with JS-training? Every time the ball bounces off the rim, you somehow grab the ball. I would call that a rebound. So the worse your JS-skill is, the more it should affect your REB-training...

I like high FT-skills a lot. It get´s you a pretty sure win in close matches where your opponent sends your players to the FT-line. So yeah, I disagree with a lot of people who think FT-training is not worth it past - let´s say - mediocre. It´s so easy to train and gives you the most obvious result: extra points.
