I'm an outside team at heart but I fundamentally like how heavy the game leans towards LI. I think it equalizes the playing field while also suppressing luck. I think I'd get frustrated at an alternative.

Not sure how you can call yourself an outside team. The majority of your games you play LI just like everyone else, including me. The reason we all do that is that it has been proven to be the best tactic, by far! None of the other tactics are even close under the current GE, hopefully this changes with the upcoming change but it is long over due.

Anyways we are getting off topic. This thread is to discuss the lack of activity amongst Canadian users and Canada's NT.

I think he means that he wants to play outside offenses but keeps migrating towards inside because he knows that's what works. In the lower divisions I always played outside offenses and they were definitely more fun.

That said, LPP has been outside guy for year and he's built the best team on paper at this moment. I think the beauty of his team is that he can probably play any offense with his group, that will give him an advantage next year when they add 'guess your opponents offense' to the tactics page.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I doubt Bballin and Kumiko and whoever else are overworked moderating our forums. Unless it's prohibited by admins, any discussion should pretty much be encouraged here. I've actually learned some things about training and was reminded that news posts exist (GE changes) lately, so it would definitely preferable to me at least...

I can't speak for anybody else, but I know in my case I pay attention to the national teams, but really don't have anything to contribute to the discussions.

I'm pretty much the same. I know when we win or lose, but I don't have any insight to offer the managers that they don't already know.

Well said..

I agree that the GE changes will be beneficial. As I became very bored with the game I decided to rebuild with a differnt type of team. Currently my team is build to play outside based offences and to be honest I have very little individual OD on most players. However my team is silly balanced with many players able to play multiple positions.

What do you anticipate the new GE to be like? Will the 3 point percentages actually become realistic? Currently the best shootong guards in the game have pathetic shooting rates while PF and C's with no business hitting 3's shoot high percentages.

I wonder if building an outside based team now won't put you and the other users that go that direction ahead of the curve on upcoming and future BB changes. It's primarily speculation but I would expect the BB's to continue to make changes in order to limit the effectiveness and/or cost efficiency of playing inside based offenses.

Yeah, its discouraging. I was hoping that discussion on roster will be much more open and interesting. I am not sure where to go with my team now personally. I will just probably keep my current roster for two seasons (this one to hopefully win the cup and then next one to see how I do after GE changes, and then focus on training again. It sucks that forums are dying and there are clearly less teams, but I hope new changes will revive things

Alright.

Im back, I did take a little hiatus from the community aspect of BB. As an 18 year old boy, theres a lot more options of things to do(You dont even want me to begin to explain my weekend.) and I have found a couple new interests, but I cant stop BB, its like a drug :) For the past couple of weeks, ive been basically just setting lineups and logging off and ill take full responsibility for that. Activity is dying down and as you can see from the Canadian Player Advice thread that beanerz opened it doesn't take too much to keep the forum at least somewhat active.

Now I have a new laptop, a renewed desire to make Canadas NT the best in the world and to keep Canadas forum active. So expect replies to BBmails, expect updates to Canadas Stats and Records, expect replies on the offsite forums regarding roster decisions, expect gameplanning threads, expect the works.

For now, com watch Canada take on Jamaica in our third game of the first round of the Americas Tournament! http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/25699/reportmatch.aspx If you want to chat it up, ill be in #Canada for the majority of the evening :)

Canada vs Jamaica

It was cold and frosty inside the Igloo as 19,997 people piled in to watch Jamaica take on Canada in Canadas 3rd match of the continental tournament. Canada came out absolutely flying pouring in bucket after bucket en route to a dominating 14 point lead after the first quarter. It was obvious that Jamaica could not keep up with Canadas Push the Ball offensive tactics. Kearns had the hot hand ending the quarter with 8 points to lead Canada.

The second quarter was a little bit of a different story. Jamaica seemed to adjust to the weather and the crowd and were able to match Canada. Basket for basket, up and down the court the two teams went, but Canada could never pull away more than they had in the first. It seemed like Canada had ended the half on a good note when Stavridis knocked down a jumper to put Canada up 17, but then at the buzzer Brett Franklin-Tong dropped a 3 from the top of the arc and Jamaica stormed into the dressing rooms on a high note.

During halftime, Bballin called in Kumiko, famous for her excessive use of a whip, to do the halftime speech. It seems Kumiko really whipped them into shape as Canada came storming out in the 3rd. Dropping basket after basket, making it look easy and absolutely shattering any hopes Jamaica had of an amazing upset. When the buzzer finally sounded to stop the torment, the score was 97-60 and the Canadians had all the momentum, all the enthusiasm and all the energy. Stronks really turned it up and led all Canadian scorers with 18 points.

The 4th was more of the same as the Canadians refused to show any kind of mercy. It seemed almost too easy. It was men vs boys out on the court. The Canadians stormed up and down the court and when the dust finally settled, the buzzer sounded and all that could be seen was the scoreboard lit up with the slaughter that was the final score. 135-74 was the outcome. A score that only barely pleased Bballin. Kearns led all Canadian scorers with 25 points, outdoing Stronks in both points and assists, a mini victory for Kearns and his manager Mr. Burns.

After the game Kumiko was stopped for a quick question.

What did say at halftime?

"I didn't say a word."

What happened at halftime then?

Head to the offsite forum to help plan the slaughter of Canadas next victim, Paraguay!
