Well, thank you for the advice and that wonderfully constructive, on-topic post of your own, Mr. U21 Romania. At least my post wasn't 11 paragraphs of spam, eh?

Speaking of spam, all the me-me-me in this thread is no better. Perhaps Ryan should have made more effort at the start to ask people to be constructive and express at least a bit of thought as to what is good for BB. At any rate, for those who aren't just spouting me-me-me, here are some thoughts.

The best suggestion I have seen has all of the following attributes:

1. Every team retains its national identity and retains its flag.
2. Every country could continue in BBB.
3. Every country would continue to have its own forum.
4. Countries that do not want to merge with each other would not have to do that.
5. Every world would have a full Division 1, 2 and 3 at least, and probably a full Division 4.
6. The competitive and financial advantages and disadvantages of playing in a macro country or a micro country would be completely evened out.
7. Every team could retain its own history.
8. The drafts could continue as they do now, making it easy to put better players in the draft and have it apply to everyone evenly.
9. Private Leagues could become more important to the game as they showcase teams of the same country.

I look at the first six as essential and the last three as desirable. These standards can certainly be met, but not without a reshuffle of existing leagues (NOT a mere merger of countries large or small). Whether Marin and Ryan are prepared for that, or will just nibble around the edges, remains to be seen.

Hi,
i answer you directly because i think the lack of competion is the main issue of BB.

my background: i'm not a newbie, i played in the past. when i started around season 3/4, more than 10 of my friends joined the game. we had a nt manager, some high levels teams in italy, we had some of the best trained player in italy ( ex. Fanesi).
At the time, you could join and start immediatly play in a league where u could win or lose games.

Look at my situation since i joined.

I've played, i believe, in a quite good way since now. Tanked when i could, won a playout series to stay 1 season more in IV, tanked the season after because i couldn't compete, in the meanwhile building up Arena and young quality players for high income. Then i finished in a league full of bot. And i 'm winning all the games, paying more or less the floor for players.

How many competitive games have i played?
5 in 2 season?
How do you think a new user could keep playing the game this way? ( i mean someone that has never played that before )
Playing in a really good way don't let u compete for more than half a year. How the h**l a person is not going to quit?

BBs are putting a lot of effort on trying to save this game.
But, i think, they are putting a lot of energy in the wrong way.
A soft merge will probably fix a little the economic problem and few players will have more competition.
Maybe we are going to save 10 or 100 or 500 account for that.
But the biggest problem i think, with the actual leagues division, people are not going to keep playing ( and the people that creates new account are just really few).

We need to create an enviroment, where when people join, can compete sooner than actually. we need to attract new people and let them stay in the game.

That 's why i think a full merge is the only way to save the game in the future.

About NT:
For sure, u can keep the nationality of your players, and keep NT that way. I dislike nationalism a lot and i think there should be no place for that especially in a game. A game should be an occasion to meet new people and new culture. But if people want to keep showing their proud about where they come from, we should let them.

A possible merger affects like 5% of the current managers. We can afford to lose a bunch of them.

This is a fantastic post. Competing sooner than later for new teams. The biggest issue in BB is the real life time of training. So these new teams get franchise guys to train but it will still take two full calendar years to train them up. Just to be fairly viable. I know this post is completely off topic but hopefully it plants a seed. The real life time it takes to train is insane. I don't know why I am doing it again. National pride I suppose.

Anyway. Great post brother.

Thank you for your feedback!

I am sorry if my post looks so off-topic and i know the discussion about the full merge has been moved in suggestion (so GM sorry again :P).
I m not complaining about the speed of the game ( but new users will probably, the world and the net is way faster now than when bb was projected and created). I like also the training system, the effort and the waiting u have to put to see results.

One of the main reason, probably the main one, to merge the micronation is to create more competition for them.
I think the real lack of competition is for the new users and the only way to make them compete sooner without touching anything about training speed/ system is to let them play against each other. With so few users joining the game each day, it's really hard for them to finish in a league where they have some teams to compete with. We have to many leagues in relation of the users are joining. Maybe there are better solution, but we are talking about merging. And merging means less leagues so more possibilities to create leagues with teams with similar level. So maybe we should think about merging more than is actually proposed in this topic:D

Just my 2 cents

1
Reason being that your in D.5 with a LOT of active teams ahead of you
Div V is full of bots.
2
I'm sure you in a very short while(bb time wise) will be competing with teams of the same strength as your self.
For sure. the problem is how many users would have keep playing after 6 months of non competion.
3
I don't know but perhaps you would have done so already if you wouldn't have tanked down to D.5.
Actually i spent all the money to try to don't be relegated at the begin of the last season, but my arena was not big enough to sustain my roster (even economy), i was losing most of the games anyway and i was paying the less i could specialist.
Keep in mind also i knew how shape and enthusiasm are working and which players are usefull or not.
Maybe i haven't done everything perfect but i doubt a complete new user could have done better.
I don't think many of the new users keep playing also in really big community like italian one.
I agree completly when u say that the situation is worst for micronation. But it's not good enough in the bigger nations too let new users keep playing:D
