I actually looked at him, wish I had recorded his skills now, but he is lost in the blur of players wizzing past my eyes at the moment.

I actually thought it was going to be a steal when it was 550k for his skills. Not the skills I am happy with but it will have to do.

Yo! Yo! D for D best PF in D Aussie BB. D Name is Kye Duffill (10080211), averages nothing but pure amazing! Vote for Duffman!

Same with Bert, when it looked like I was getting him for $2,000,000 with 2 minutes to go I was exstatic, but $500,000 later I was just happy.

HA continues to be a dissappointing underperforming team

Well done CCat

I notice that Iwen has put 6 of his players up for sale including that magnificent beast Kosac.

Also notice that BellCats have a couple of their biggest name players up for sale including Velasco

Could put Kosac and Velasco in the HA suits but I guess that would ruin their games

Every time I think I understand the game I am wrong.

BLS is the greatest manager in Aussie history. Rony Borrel is his legendary big man. Four time ABBL all star, been a MVP candidate five times coming third as recently as season 15. So his stats must be amazing right? What a disappointment. He is totally vanilla. He has good stamina and free throws but actually has two atrocious and nothing above marvellous.

How was he the third best player in the ABBL? How was he the starting C for the team that won the National Cup this season? Nothing makes sense.

Haha I totally agree with you! I was utterly disappointed once I discovered the skills of the winning big man. And yet I am thinking that my big men are gonna kick asses in ABBL!!

a) Don't underrate the effect of experience - the prolific experience would turn him from an ordinary player, to a very good one.
b) He's got a bit of JS, which is always handy to have as a centre.

That said, he's nothing more than a good ordinary player, which at 80K wages is hardly unexpected

Re the MVP results, the ABBL was a bit of a different beast even 3-4 seasons ago - the players on teams simply weren't asa good as they are now (and MVP results are hugely biased by team results). For example, if I listed Gafa now, everyone would be underwhelmed by him, but he's a 12 time allstar and MVP winner in season 14... Its all down to two effects I think, experience, and the general quality of teh ABBL being lower back then...

Yes great answer! I know that obviously standards must have gone up but wow they have gone up a lot. You guys must have been rolling in money even a few seasons ago and I can't dream what it must have been like in the early days when you all had teams that would be well below what is now the salary floor. I guess that is why every time you old timers need a new player you can just pull out a few spare million to get them.

But things are changing. Obviously the "new" teams like Whitebeard, Monkeybiz and Koopasaurus have shown they have the smarts to compete and win. It is looking like Datzilla may be hanging around after last night's impressive win.

Great win

He stated his will to survive a week or two back on this forum and accordingly made some major acquisitions

lol i wish! Only money i really have these days comes from player sales and is backed up a tiny bit by Cup win bonuses.

With Borrel, he was good for me in the past but he's definitely not a key part of my rotation anymore, despite me starting him at C all season. He certainly hasn't been one of the better C's in the league but he hasn't been all that bad either and has held up reasonably well against the bigger C's which has allowed me the time to shop for a replacement. He did his job and got a few boards, played some defense but i need that 80k salary for the new guy now so unfortunately it's time for Borrel to hang up the boots.

Also, mllama was pretty spot on with his post. Only thing i'd add is that in "the old days" things were fairly guard heavy. Now a lot of teams just have guards to defend and pass to the monster bigs so roles/rosters have changed a little bit as the GE has changed.

There is another side to the early days though - if you have a look at the transfer histories of the old teams, the prices for even players that would be considered mediocre these days were absolutly sky high. So while we were making a fair bit of cash, we had to fork out a heap to remain competitive.

Then as more and more players got trained up to higher skill levels, those players that were bought for a high price became relatively worthless. So while we were making a heap of cash, alot of it was being leaked on the devaluation of our players.
