Perhaps it is a question of semantics. If the wording were changed to say...

TIE= Normal
Normal= Crunch Time
Crunch Time= Life or Death

or some variation

Would that make it seem more realistic?

Life or Death? Is it supposed to be a Kermit Washington resemblance? Than a good level doctor would be needed.

But i got your point, it could be like Normal - Play hard - Crunch time! but I think managers are used to TIE-Normal-CT and it would cause a confusion in discussions. You would have to use three completely new terms instead of using old ones for something else than it is used now. Maybe a good suggestions for translation.

Just a question of semantics. If I were struggling with the term 'take it easy' I would just remind myself that the lowest effort level doesnt have to mean 'barely show up'.
