Yes great answer! I know that obviously standards must have gone up but wow they have gone up a lot. You guys must have been rolling in money even a few seasons ago and I can't dream what it must have been like in the early days when you all had teams that would be well below what is now the salary floor. I guess that is why every time you old timers need a new player you can just pull out a few spare million to get them.

But things are changing. Obviously the "new" teams like Whitebeard, Monkeybiz and Koopasaurus have shown they have the smarts to compete and win. It is looking like Datzilla may be hanging around after last night's impressive win.

lol i wish! Only money i really have these days comes from player sales and is backed up a tiny bit by Cup win bonuses.

With Borrel, he was good for me in the past but he's definitely not a key part of my rotation anymore, despite me starting him at C all season. He certainly hasn't been one of the better C's in the league but he hasn't been all that bad either and has held up reasonably well against the bigger C's which has allowed me the time to shop for a replacement. He did his job and got a few boards, played some defense but i need that 80k salary for the new guy now so unfortunately it's time for Borrel to hang up the boots.

Also, mllama was pretty spot on with his post. Only thing i'd add is that in "the old days" things were fairly guard heavy. Now a lot of teams just have guards to defend and pass to the monster bigs so roles/rosters have changed a little bit as the GE has changed.

There is another side to the early days though - if you have a look at the transfer histories of the old teams, the prices for even players that would be considered mediocre these days were absolutly sky high. So while we were making a fair bit of cash, we had to fork out a heap to remain competitive.

Then as more and more players got trained up to higher skill levels, those players that were bought for a high price became relatively worthless. So while we were making a heap of cash, alot of it was being leaked on the devaluation of our players.

Your definition of a tiny bit is quite different from mine!

Final Game: $ 300 000
Semi-Final: $ 135 000
Quarter-Final: $ 100 000
16-team round: $ 80 000
32-team round: $ 70 000
64-team round: $ 60 000
All lower rounds: $ 50 000


Just kidding, I can tell at a glance that most teams aren't making much. When the league average income is:

League Average Net Income: $ 108 429


and with teams like Zazz and I making $500,000 a week that means a lot of teams aren't making much.

Borrel has done a fantastic job for you this season and despite my saying he is vanilla, if he was two years younger I would buy him for my return to ABBL campaign.

The ABBL is certainly big man land now.

Perhaps Borrel is better than what his skills appear maybe he has been trained to the cusp of popping on several of the primary skills.

Do salaries rise progessionally or do they only jump for each skill level increment reached?

Can a player provide better value for money by training them within a whisker of popping in skills?

Does anyone know what Shanmag and Iwen are planning?

Not sure if you are allowed to post player attributes on the public forums when they are on the TL. But I'll answer some of the questions.

Player salaries do rise progressively... so even if the skill level haven't popped you will still pay for a percentage of it if have have trained that skill.

No one except Shanmag and Iwen will know what they are planning, they can only speculate.
