It might just be the lack of competition/possibillities that is the main challenge for BB right now. I am also in favor of a full merge, and at least the micro/semi-micro nations.

In the JimboJambos example above he will be promoted and have a go in the above league every season, until he manages to stay there. So he will get first draft pick every other season. Micro nations don't. It is interesting to hear that the income for div V is so bad. Perhaps an extra set of measures, implemented at the same time, in combination could help, instead of trying out one idea at a time:

a) Merge

b) Limiting attendance even more, throughout the divisions. To make a more even playground for new teams. You could have a big arena, but you are not able to fill it until you are in the upper divisions. So teams relegating will have to adapt quickly, until they are able to promote again. Next season when the next teams relegates, they to will have to adapt. This will force teams to sell and buy players more often.

c) Give a much bigger promotion bonus, so the upper divisions will have to struggle more to keep the newly promoted teams down, thereby spending more of their money. This could help in taking a bite of the account of super rich teams, and also make the promotion/relegation teams more diverse. The teams promoting will have a chance to stay in division, instead of almost automatic relegation as it is now.

that is the bigger problem actually, new people who come in the game not stay long wherever they come from...

Thanks...that's way I said in the beginning of the threat I am against the merge of ONLY just the micro nations, because also in big nations we have for new users a lack of competition!!
A merge of micro nations where we then will have only DII with real managers is useless....it doesn't solve the issues it just delays them.....
Let's take the example Austria.....we have now 50 users....after the merge we will have 100 users.....then after 1 year again we will lose 30 users.....then we have to merge again with another country....
Please make one big change and merge all countries to BIGGER regions where people can enjoy playing also in the lower leagues D5 with enough human competition!!!

I have just joined and happy with the current system. However it was so difficult to get my welsh team as had to go thru an appeal. The process be a welsh player in a welsh league living in wales is extremely difficult as all teams in the UK seem to be pushed into England and their league. I have seen a post on our forum where a former welsh player/team was put in England despite their request to go back into a welsh league. Do organisers actually want the smaller countries to expand naturally. I wonder if this is the issue why number of teams in Wales is low and maybe this is an issue around the world also.

Just one information: the colombian discussion about this topic (only 4 managers) and we think the same: merge will be interesting but we want to keep our flags and NTs.

In Paraguay only two users posted their opinions (pointing in the same direction). Countries like Panamá, Ecuador and Bolivia haven't opinions about this topic.

In this scenario, I support the merge idea. It's pretty boring the lack of participation of the community. Will be interesting to know how the merge will work. That kind of info will focus the discussion.

A possible merger affects like 5% of the current managers.

Sadly, you might be right. They might do it that way, the equivalent of rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Of course, they might be serious about saving BB, serious enough to do a complete reshuffle that affects 100% of the teams.

Time will tell.
