back to the original topic, the biggest problem with lack of american interest is the ability to get your friends into the same league. I know most of my friends might find the game interesting and fun, but if they could not be in the same league they could lose intrest fast. Seriously how much fun would that be if you could all be in the same league? That is the major holdback in my opinion. While other fantasy sports dont compare to this game they do have the ability to have all your friends together in the same league.

If you look at the most popular internet games today they are all social games. The second biggest problem is the lact of socializing on this game. If thre was a 24/7 chat option, that will greatly enhance the experience. You should not have to log on, you should automaticly be logged on. That way whenever you log in you can say hello to your league, your country or the world. Instant socializing.

I am in Div V and there are only 3 active teams parcipating in forums and thes same three are the only ones communicating with each other. It took half a season to get the forums going, before I arrived there was ZERO activity in the league forums.

I've played in online football league (sierra front page football) and all the owners were very active. It got to the point were we all became friends and ended up calling each other on the phone while playing the game. I hesitate to get people to join this game simply becuase they would be isolated in a league where they didnt know anyone. Maybe they get an active league, maybe they dont.

Lastly, this is not the easist site to navigate. There needs to be a better tutorial and some kind of mentor program. It is very overwhelming in the begining. The better guide and people to help them would be such a huge boost. Live chat would do wonders for getting new users going. Imagine when you first started and where getting frustrated trying to figure things out, how awesome is that to be in a live chat and ask questions? the community becomes the mentor.

Now that I have dropped my thoughts down, I realize live chat is the most important thing for this game. Socializing, help, community. Do it BB!

I'm pretty sure I would sit in a 24/7 chat most of the day...

[qWhen players are training defense, what determines what skill they would train in? Does it go by height, position played, a combination, or something else altogether? ]

Defense would train both ID and OD, but height and age would come into it. Position would be immaterial. So tall people would gain more ID, short would get more OD. Old players would not gain much. The current settings for age and height could be used.

As to the 'I don't want players trained to save on salary' question, use a tick box saying 'no training' and then these players would not be trained. Hattrick does this, so it is not hard to implement.

Spoken like the electrical engineers in the NY Power Pool the day before the entire East Coast went dark.

The unrealistic training system is a major reason this fine game is losing active players and not getting new ones.

If you haven't figured that out, you have not been paying attention all those seasons you have been playing.

IMO the way the training is set up the way it is, is because the way that they built the game engine and how it operates. Again the way the training is set up is my favorite aspect of this game. It makes it much more challenging to move up in divisions.

So what are your suggestions for increasing the number of USA players?

As with all "I like BB the way it is" responses in this thread, what changes would any of you make to increase the number of USA teams? Clearly, standing pat is not a real option.

Saying "I like it the way it is, so don't change" is also a totally irrelevant comment for this specific thread, BTW. Most of you have played many seasons. We all know you like the game. Your happiness is not the issue. Getting new USA players is.
