you don't see too many Tony parker singlets around do you? But plenty of Paul Pierce, Rose, Lebron etc.

The answer to that is obvious, it is not about winning but winning with style. Allen Iverson and Tracy McGrady just retired this week and both were wildly popular despite not winning and would have sold far more merch than anyone from winning but unsexy teams of the early naughties like Detroit or San Antonio.

Imagine San Antonio, Indiana or Memphis had won this season. Do you really think any of their players would outsell LeBron, Kobe or Melo?

That "star power" factor is reflected in things like all star appearances in real life whereas in BB the all star selections vary between surprising and insane.

In BB the merchandising does encourage people to draft and train. Not even close to making it worthwhile but it is like getting a discount on the cost. Thank goodness something is still encouraging people to train.

I guess it depends on what you think a 'good' game is in terms of game design. Should training be encouraged over buying established players? Should there be a right and wrong way of playing, or should all strategies be equally viable?

I don't think there's a right or wrong answer to any of these questions, it's really a matter of personal preference. I do believe, however, that all strategies should have a roughly equal chance of being successful.

99% of the factors in the game already favour buying established players. The strategies are not even close to being equally viable. I am just glad that there is something besides fun and satisfaction that encourages training. I wish the strategies were equally viable.

So MVp this season is actually a tough choice! Most of the good players are from teams that didn't end up with the best record.

so yer i dunno! Im thinking maybe Slobodan Brkljac from Geelong Vipers, or maybe Su Huawei from Bell park super cats.

scoring clips were down this season as well.

Well that is good news

Even if I can get past NSW, Ive done the form and I don't think I can beat Tannum Tantrums who I assume will win through from the Great 8.

Their starters are worth more than my entire squad and they have a big advantage over me in the 1, 3 and 5 positions

Looks like your all likely to have to put up with me again next season

erm... no.. just... no.

ur team ratings for the game against me were better than tannum's, and thats even with Ott at SF and Ryder at C.

And you have home court advantage.

so no. nooooo no no no no.

no chance. in fact, i think Northcote might pip him anyways.

.

I certainly hope that you are right

However I dont think I gain a lot by moving Ryder to SF and Ott to Centre as I lose the mismatches.

Also and no disrespect by saying this, Bell parks team would have been stronger than yours, hence my ratings may have been boosted a bit

Have another look at Tannum tantrums team.

His 108K a week Centre was in respectable game shape last game and one of my nemisiss from last season the 99K a week SG Abimbola was only in average game shape.

His team has massive scope for improvement and with HCA should beat Northcote easy.

For the record they beat Northcote by 31 points last time

Very likely that the league is going to be stuck with me again next season
