I've been looking for a NT level guard for the past couple weeks and there hasn't been too many options.

I've been looking every day for a guard, maybe not at the NT level but pretty high up there. The issue for me is not the lack of options (I see about 6 that I would take at the moment). The issue for me is that I can't afford them.

I'd argue that the amount of top quality players on the market has been lower as of late.

In terms of NT guys, the issue is probably different than what you are thinking. Having an NT player on your team is now much more valuable. It is one reason why I would probably not sell Wendon - well at least until he no longer can play for the NT.

For non-NT types, the only change there is the elimination of free agents.

I'd argue that the reasoning behind this is that the inflated market is scaring many managers away from placing their top guys on the TL.

I kind of doubt this as the BBs have said they will not let inflation get out of control. My impression is that they are waiting to see if prices will stabilize once we can no longer change arena prices every day. If not, I'm guessing we will see free agents on the market again, or some other type of price stabilization.

If you're looking to sell, now is the best time to get the highest price, in my opinion.

I think on some level the changes to merchandising have influenced pricing on two levels.. one extra money supply has raised the amount teams have to spend... and then the increased revenue these NT bring in actually increases their intrinsic value, in a totally expected manner. And yes, we will continue to monitor the situation

Good to hear.

By the way, my first comments were specifically addressing the possible reasons for a lack of talent on the market, not the reasons for the current inflation that we are observing.

This is the kind of crap i'm talking about

That transfer has nothing to do with the subject at hand. You can still buy guys like that for under $10,000.

I think is a good theory too... I mean on one hand we want to keep prices from going nuts so the game isn't unplayable, on the other hand we want to let these sorts of market dynamics stay to some extent because.. well.. frankly they are fun, if you correctly predict/analyze the forces that are at play you can take advantage.

Then apparently you do not have enough money.
