Inter-league play has offically begun. Were a third of the way into the season and there are still 2 undefeated teams left. It'll be interesting to see how the do as they play rivals from the other side of the conference.
They Said It:
"Are they playing basketball or football? I mean look at them some of the franchises even have NSBL(National Super Bowl League) names. All they do is pass, run, and turn the ball over. At their best they avg.14 points a quarter.I went to a Dolphins scrimmage this year and hear someone on the team yell "Touchdown" after they got a fast break dunk. True idiocy ." -- Coal Miners' Cristóbal Sacristan Roy remarks on the Dolphins, their upcoming inter-conference match opponent.
1. (1) Coal Miners
The Coal Miners continue to put up amazing statement wins. They beat WWIAFTM by 20 resting there starters, and took out the Buffalo Wings by a nice 26 points. Will Hickey had a huge week putting up 31 on the WWIAFTM. As far as Cristobal Sacristan Roy goes, he keeps on coming up big.
2. (2) Cincinnati Lakers
Getting through the tough Great 8 with a 6-1 record puts them up ahead of the Stallions by the slimmest of margins. Claudio Sandolli is doing work in the post so far. He pulled down 17 rebounds against the LA Thunder as the Lakers cruised. It'll be interesting to see if anyone but the Coal Miners can challenge them.
3.(3) Tenn Stallions
The Stallions once again proved that they were by far the most dominating team in the Big 8. They took out the then 2nd place detroit lions by 33. Vincenzo Dineralli proved that he could come up big scoring 29 against the lions. They should be able to breeze through most of the Big 8 but itll still be intereting to see how they do.
4.(4) Buffalo Wings
The Wings only have 2 losses but both have come to the Lakers and the Miners. They're definately a step behind them but I don't think its that huge of a step. They have two games comng up against the bottom 3 of the Big 8 that should help them recover from the 26 point between from the Coal Miners.
5.(5) Bollingbrook Tigers
Bollingbrook had a rotinue week against 00NewS and macintosh, two of the Great 8 bottom feeders. They easily beat both to help get back n the winning ways. Yu Yufa continues to be there only real contributitor in both games puttng up 23 and 18 respectfully. They play lemoss to start off inter-conference play. It should be interesting to see how they react to Yufa.
6.(NR) lemoss
I'm going to leave all the $ signs out of the name but move this team into the 6th spot. They've beaten the Makos and have come the closest to taking out the Stallions. They've also won 5 straight. They have 2 extremely tough games against Bollingbrook and Buffalo. If David Pinard can keep scoring this team could have what it takes to pull off some upsets.
7.(7) WWIAFTM
WWIAFTM stays at the 7th spot. Until I see how they play against some Big 8 talent, I'm going to keep them ahead of some teams. They managed to pull out a 22 point win over the LA Thubder. They face off against the Stallions this week which should be an interesting game.
8. (8) detroit lions
The detroit lions only lost to the Tenn. Stallions. I don't know if I think there better than the Makos at this point, especally since they lost hugely against the Stallions but I'm going to keep them here this week.
Game of the Week: Tenn Stallions @ WWIAFTM
I don't think this will be a close game, with the Stallions easily winning but I'm keeping my eye on it just because I think it'll be a good gauge to see where each conference compares against each other. If WWIAFTM can pull of a stunner then they'll be in great playoff contention.
