Hehe, I wrote that over a year ago. I had to re-read much of it just to remember, lol. I dot have a problem with day trading, I think I was refering more to the person who was complaining about what people were posting.

The game has taken adequate care to ensure day-trading is tricky enough to do well and turn a profit. I do what may be refered to as day trading (more like month-trading) with a little training to boost profit.

what about that a player have to have played 2 games for you that you can put him on the TL.
To put him again on the list he needs 2 more games and so on...

they have system set up to prevent day trading. lol

find a player that is selling for 1-10k and the player is worth 2-400k.

now you REALY got to be VERY carefull with this.

Sooner rather then later you are going to hit a very hard wall, unless you already knew, are want to listen to what I will explain now:

There is no such thing as players who are worth 2-400k.

If you see a compare that says 2 to 400 k, the player is likely worth 2 to 10 k.

This is also probably the reason why you can buy him for 10k or less.

So why does it say to 400k then?
Because some cheater has bid 400k on such a player to make an other team rich. And by doing this has integrated the 400k value in the comparisson of the TL.

If someone sees this, the seller is in trouble.


Let me remind everyone that selling players above regular current TL-prices is not alowed.
Should anyone get a bid that is higher than what similar players on the market sell for at that time, he is obligated to report HIMSELF with the report cheaterlink (even though he is no cheater, and will also not be treated as a cheater! (unless he IS a cheater)

Not reporting this yourself will get you in trouble.

So if for example you buy a player for 10k (which is worth 2 to 10k compared to the other similar players that are sold around the same time), because his TL-compare says similar players have recently be sold between 2 and 400k, and then you put him on the TL for 300k and someone buys him (for instance because he doesn't know the TL prices because he is new), and you don't report this, you can expect trouble.
Even IF you get lucky enough to only get a warning and no fine, you will still get a pricecorrection for the sale, ending up with the normal value of the player anyway, so it's not worth the risk playing this tactic. It's not only not worth the risk, it's also not alowed.

You CAN however buy a player for a low price if you find one, and resell him at a regular price. Nothing wrong with that.

I just want to warn EVERYONE to be VERY carefull with the TL-compare, since it does NOT always resemble the truth about player's values. If there is a lot of space between the low number and the high, the high number mostly will be way to high, and the real value will probably be more towards the lower number.

players worth 100k to 150k or players worth 1100k to 1400k are prety trustworthy values.
players worth 50k to 700k or 250k to 1500k mostly are not. In this latter example the truth will be closer to 50k to 100k and 250k to 500k or so...

I hope this will help everyone to get a realistic look at the compare tool, and also about what they are alowed to do, and what they are obligated to report.

I think this description is confusing and contradicts what we've been told in the past.

On the one hand, we're told that the estimated transfer value is a loose estimate, on the other hand we're now being told that to sell a player on the open market and have that player go above the high end of the estimated value is cheating. Even if we had nothing to do with the bidding process?
This sounds unenforceable and insane.
Should I report the fact that I sold a guy estimated at 1m - 1.2m for 1.25m?
Are you suggesting that if a player valued at 50k-300k is sold for $290k that this may constitute cheating?

If the tool is so out of whack then how can you use it to enforce rules?

What about at the beginning of last season when the compare tool hadn't caught up to the new influx of cash yet and sale prices suddenly jumped? Were all those sellers and buyers cheating?

Yes the TL-estimate is a loose estimate, hence the warning it doesn't ALWAYS reflect the real values of players. So it should NOT be used to justify high values.
It would be too easy to bid 1M a few times on a 10k player from an other of your own teams (which you have when you try to cheat) and then sell more of those justifying the price isn't too high since the estimate said so...

I also did not talk about reporting a 290k sale when the estimate is 50 to 300k, nor when a player is estimated at 1M is sold for 1M2 or 1M3.

What I am saying is that you should not rely on the transfer-compare too much: if the estimate says he is 1M,prices could have changed. If prices happen to have an upward trend, the 1M2 or 1M3 are not odd, and can be seen as marketvalues and as such you don't need to report.
So you should not rely on the transfer-compare too much.

However, when a player's real value is about 10k, and you sell him for 300k, this is CLEARLY overpriced, and that needs to be reported. Yes, even if the compare would say he might go up to 400k, since anyone following the market just a littlebit will know he isn't worth that much.

This is the only way we can fight abuse, and this is the way it is going to be.

Everyone either plays fair, or risks getting in trouble.

Everyone who plays fair will not have to worry about anything. If you are confident the player you sell is truly worth 1M2 or even 1M3, even if his high estimate was 1M, then you don't have to fear. If not, you should not put him up for sale for that much, and should anyone still be bidding that price, it won't hurt to report it so we can see if the buyer isn't planning to cheat. Or in case the price was clearly overpriced, even correct it.
It was never the intention of the game to have luck make the winners. There is some luck, but lucky lottery is not the name of this game.
So if someone (who for instance stops playing the game and starts acting silly) is bidding his whole money on 1 player, it would not be fair towards the other teams in his league.
What would you think about your rival getting 6M for a 20k player because someone decided to quit and donate his 4M to a random team?? Fair? no!

The major point is to not trust the estimates to much, especially not the high end. The closer the high value is to the low value, the more chace it has to be more acurate. This to say that 2 to 400k is most certainly not a trustworthy compare, and the player will most certainly not be worth 400k !

If it's still unclear of what, or why needs reporting, let me know, and I'll try to make it a little more clear...

I've put players on the TL based on current price and then 1 week, 2 weeks later the price goes down. What i do is i just keep his TL price the same - even though current TL price is lower. will i get in trouble?

as is said a few times before. as long as you arent trying to cheat, and trust me, you know when you are cheating, than you have nothing to worry about...

This will always happen. It seems it is impossible to root out all the cheaters.

So..you're basically saying we should report all suspicious transfer listed players if we see them?

There are blantant cheats. I caught one red handed.

As much as we'd like to rid of all these transactions, I'm afraid that the majority of them will not be caught or is there some sort of action plan in place by the GMs to catch these guys apart from relying on the rest of community to report suspicious deals?

I don't see a problem with it, if, you are looking threw the market and find a player that is selling for 1-10k and the player is worth 2-400k.

I think this thread is a bit more concerned for the price difference going the other way. It isnt suspicious at all if a player goes for cheaper than his claimed value, as all of us have the same shot at the player on the TL. It would not be a smart cheat strategy to expect to get player cheaper from alt/friend teams. Someone not involved in this scheme can just (and will most likely) bid up this player until he nears his value. I am constantly checking and rechecking the TL and rarely do I see players going for 20-40 times cheaper than the implied market value. Rarely indeed.

The concern about cheating comes with the opposite scenario. A player valued at 10k going for 200-400k. This is more than likely a 'money transfer' from one team to another and is cheating. As the playoffs near players tend to sell for more than earlier in the season, and seeing a player valued at 1M go for 1.2M isnt a big deal, imo. It is when that 1M player goes for 2.5M that bells start going off. Good judgement is as much a part of reporting fishy transfers as the information you report, again imo.
