Judging by the ratings I'm guessing they both played PCT. Should be an interesting game 3...

I can tell you the ABBL is watching this as well. Do we get the lovable Akuma and his XBB hall of fame team or do we have the "pleasure" of having Sid back in our ranks again with his amazing trainees and smelly rentals?

Don't see Bryce training an 18 year old he will be selling him I imagine. Bobby Locke no-one ever knows he was the silent man of the ABBL. This is uncharted territory for him.

Thanks Sid! That was pretty much the hardest BB game I've ever played, and it was a game that could've gone either way. Well done to you on a masterful season. Just a bit of bad luck losing to hadders during the regular season, and opening the door to allow me HCA for the finals.

In saying that... thanks for beating Sid for me Hadders! You are this season's true champion! :D

I thought I was done for after checking during the middle of the first quarter and saw that my guys were on 8 fouls and were losing 18-11 or something like that.

Ky Duffill for MVP!!!!!!

well done to both Sid and Akuma for showing us a truely awesome Div II finals series. After all the millions of dollars in salary and player (and staff) purchases, and the months of mind games, forum chatter and just general bulldust being spilt by all - only 10 points was the difference in the end.

I think also the BB gods were smiling on this result - Of the two, Sid is probably the best placed to recover, given his current crop of trainee's - a loss to TAK could have seen him dissolve into the BB ether.

At least we know Sid will defiantely bounce back in some form or another and it will be nice to see his trainee's grow.

So i guess there was at least one eternal question answered tonight - How long can Akuma keep up his team of big salary players? Well.... at least one season so far.

It would be interesting to hear from the old timers of this game, but I doubt if a team in Div 2 has ever beaten a team with a total players salary of 950K, in order to promote.

Duffill certainly had a good game, Ott did a great job on him in game 2 but got beaten pretty badly in game 3.

If I had of some how managed to sneak a win I had thoughts of buying Duffill and Smeltz to allow them back into the ABBL.

Certainly the loss will have a sincere impact on my team and will put me back a few seasons.

Hopefully the sale of Linares, Cranshaw and Grund will clear my debt.

I might have to consider selling Noah and Riviera, as they will be too old by the time Im good enough to get another shot of promotion.

Haha mate don't pretend you weren't the instigator of many of the "interesting" forum conversations!

For anyone that is/was interested in my finances:

I started my XBB campaign with something like 3.5 million.
I spent roughly 800k buying Smeltz in Season 22 (thanks to Yoda for jacking up the price from a TPE of 400k!)
I spent about 1.1 million buying Duffman at the start of Season 23 (thanks to Fishy for jacking up the price from a starting point of 1 million! Damn these Calamari....). Spent a few dollars here and there, ended up starting Season 23 with something like 1.5 million left in the kitty.

For the first half of season 23, thanks to a huge merch bump (i was getting around 120k a week) and cup earnings, i was breaking even. I cant remember what my salary was, i think it was around 600k.

Phase 2 of season 23, when i brought in Bonicini and lost the cup, i was losing roughly 100k a week.

Phase 3 of season 23, just before the finals, when i bought in Luster, i was losing 300k a week.

Phase 4 of season 23, just as the playoffs kicked off, i was on a 1.1 million roster, and was losing nearly 600k a week.

Right now, my bank balance is around -800k after the three finals games. If I don't dip below 500k next week i think all the players on my team are going to get auto-listed. I've sacked the three rentals (don't think i'll get much anyway, and don't want to pay another weeks salary), and i'm hoping the promotion money will kick in soon to bring me back into the green.

It was safe to assume that if i did not win tonight, I would've faced bankruptcy if I couldn't offload guys like maclean and abimbola for handsome $$$$.

Oh well..with great risk comes great reward! Or was it with great power comes great responsibility? I forget! :D
