I started following Nippons forum ever since I found out that B.B.King became your's NT manager. Based on experience from Polish forums I knew it's gonna be fun times :) And I wasn't wrong.
Following that flame war and reading your's and B.B King's posts is really amusing from a perspective of someone who doesn't support either one and don't really care how it will end :)
I didn't want to write anything but in that post you wrote something about Polish NT that is completely false, and you did wrote that several times before so I want to set that straight.
your NT run with HCA you guys were ALSO the most beastly trained, massive salaries, massive primary advantages, devoted teams for almost every player on your squad. Teams that had given up on competing or ever making b3, ever promoting, ever caring about their regular season schedule just to train and pay the salaries of the players you needed to win 300 400k + salaries, that is all you know.
If you want to discredit B.B.Kings achievement of winning World Cup because we had HCA, fine, it's your opinion that you're entitled to.
But the part that I bolded is completely not true. At the time we didn't have the biggest salaries out of top NTs in BB. I remember that because there was a lot of talking about that in Polish forums at the time.
We had exactly 2 players that were as you call it beasts with salaries over 300k. Wiśniewski and Ali Eygi. Especially the second one was max primaries - none secondaries type of player. Wisniewski's secondaries weren't that great but they weren't in black and blue range either.
But EVERY top NT at that time had a few such players on the roster so our roster wasn't that much different from other NT's.
I don't have salaries of players from that time, but I checked how salaries of those players add up now. And I also checked salaries of players that played in NT of our 3 last opponents from that season.
Because it's six seasons later those comparisons aren't very precise, since some of those players got more training and their salary is higher than 6 seasons ago (but that applies to all 4 NT's so I guess it more less evens out), some of them are 34 or older now so their salary dropped due to skill drops (I will list how many players are currently 34+ from those NT's and their precise age, because 35 year old will surely get bigger salary drop than a 34 year old), but I think it can generally show you that our NT wasn't that beastly trained and over the top in primaries as you make it out to be.
Polish NT : 2 052 871 (2 players 34 (C and PG) , 1 player 35 (C) )
Chile NT: 2 092 351 (1 players 34 (SG), 2 players 35 (2 C) )
Usa NT: 2 197 936 (4 players (34), 1 player 36, 1 player 38)
Italy NT: 2 766 896 (none 34 years or older).
So as you can see we weren't very different from other NT's in terms of salary paid.
I wouldn't be surprised if B.B. King had data of all those NT's salaries in season 16, and maybe he will want to post exact salaries but I am 100% sure that this data would support what I just posted.
So please, discredit B.B. King's achievement as polish NT manager all you want, but don't back up those statements with untrue facts :)
And if you think our NT was that weak and we just got lucky because we had HCA I remind you that we also won next WC in season 18, so that first gold wasn't a fluke :)
