Suppose there are two teams 1st started in season 3 completely developed 8-9 times league winner and having roster around 1 million and another started in mid season 16 and only managed to complete its arena and just managed to promote to top league with its ability and knowledge and had player salary around 350k. Is there any other way except tanking by which 2nd team can come to the level of 1st team and compete it.
If salary floor increased then gap between these teams will increase and it'll be difficult for new teams to survive and our game will losse many managers.
Tanking is foundation stone of this game because one can only buy new player if he had something saved.
Also this step if taken will lead to bankcrupting of most of new teams and this game will be then only for teams older then 10 seasons and which also will degenerate as their players get retire. So according to me game should keep on going as it is.......?

If just 1.5 only, then no, sorry i was thinking it to be huge :O but i'll went below salary floor or at margin. Don't you think limiting number of players that can be buyed before playoff will stop this situation of buying players before playoff and winning and also will not effect the teams which are tanking just to buy player at once to complete a world level balanced team.

Tanking would not change that as old teams could also tank and earn more money than new teams.

So yes, they may reach the level of old teams, this will just take some time as in any country.

Basketball knowledge, statistical analysis, competition analysis, strategy analysis, goal setting (particularly long-term), patience, communication, humility (ability to take on new information as it appears more logical).. etc.. etc..

Patience and capitalization on opportunity. And superior skill I suppose.

Please take a look at this league and its 22nd regular season game: 4 teams intentionally causing a walkover just to reach 5th place.

I really think it's time to punish intentional walkovers:
- one game no revenue for the team that causes a WO
- no effect of TIE in this game
- 5th place teams that caused a WO have to pay wages throughout the rest of the season.

The salary floor in India is $242k. Just for reference, I started in Season 14 and have made the playoffs every season since. Admittedly the current number 1 in India tanked 5 seasons and then spent $15 mil at one shot but it is possible to be competitive without tanking.
