Wouldn't the quality of oppenent make a difference in the amount of shots blocked ie 15 shot blocking against a 4 inside shooter on average, would average more blocks per game than a 15 shot blocker against a 20 inside shooter. I would say when the player gets beat on Defense then the last defense would be his ability to block the shot.
Just my take.

Right is not a popularity contest!

Well when I think of somebody like Dwight Howard I believe his blocks are more and driving guards than on centers, maybe thats where its important since driving isnt as effective...just my opinion tho

Its gone beyond the argument is it useless or not.

The creators of the game argue it is valuable.

The majority of players in the game consider it invaluable.

For this to ever change it will require the mindset of a very high percentage of managers to come around to believing it. It will need a maverick manager to build a team of monster blockers and lift a trophy of significance. Otherwise if we continue as we are now, we are eliminating the skill from the game ourselves by second guessing its value (or lack of!).

it may also come into play and be magnified by that hidden "aggressiveness" attribute
