One position training really does suck! I would've won both my games this week training JS/1v1, boooooo. lol.
Better sign that guard now or embrace relegation i think.

no... I really wanted him... but with my crazy attendance now (less than what I got even in div III), I am glad I did not get him, nor any US NT player. I think this will probably be my last season... I'll just bleed the treasury to zero and see how that goes.

I kind of wish my team was in Div. V. Finish in last each season, and since it's unlikely that another team scouts, you could maybe get the two best players from each draft. Use all your money for a world-renowned trainer. A team makes so much money by having a drafted NT player; imagine having a starting five of them. If you're thinking about quitting you should do something crazy and exciting like that.

I've actually been considering something exactly along these lines for the past few days. Not that I'm thinking of quitting or anything, but the more I consider it, the more the game design seems to encourage this sort of thing.

Interesting, how would you train them?

I'm assuming to get top NTers they need 1 position training for more than 2/3 seasons before 2 position.

Potentially :

1st draftee + trainee 1 position
1st and 2nd 1 position
1st 2nd 3rd 1 position?
1-4 2 position?
1-5 2 position?

then what? :D

Also, with the bot drafting order changed from random to initial ranking, you're very likely only to get 1 player each season that's worth it. - And it's very likely you'll have big holes to fill i.e. all respectable but 1 OD and PS? That would be a tough waste of a season.

It would of course be a huge challenge that would require some luck, but if pulled off it would give the team an advantage over literally every team in the game (assuming no other team has done it). The exact strategy of what to do would depend entirely on the cards dealt. Ideally the draftees and training would be a progression from PG to SG to SF, etc, with two position training sandwiched between one position training, so the PF gets jump shot training with the PG, and the SF gets rebound training with the PF/C, and the training regime is concluded with one position of inside shot/inside defense.

Well, I did serial demote and found out the hard way how much the game discourages the practice. I don't think I would have had any trouble staying in II if I wanted, but once I went down the path of demotion, the hits just kept coming.
