I think this poll shows we need much more low-cost players.

Your answer shows that you want much more low-cost players.

If some managers are willing to pay a high price for old or bad players, it means those managers think the players are worth the money. As if was stated before, average players can be bought for low prices but one needs to spend some time on the market to find those opportunities.

I seriously doubt that that is true very often. I suspect that far more often it means they don't know what they're doing ... or they are driven to desperate measures by the economy as it currently exists ... or they are doing a money transfer against the rules. None of those are as benign as "thinking the players are worth the money." All of those reveal how sick the game has become; some would even say it is on life support.

No my post wasn't personal at all.

I have been very active so far, and always managed to underpay for players. You can check my transfer record, I almost always buy players, use them for a season, then sell for slightly more than I bought them, or at least return the money.

But this season, I didn't have time to play. And guess what, I just gave up on the season(after starting 7-0), there are no good deals on the market, unless you hawk all the time..

This is probably why a lot of casual/new managers are leaving. They are being victims to overpaying for bad players.

To return to my point: inflation on top end players - good for the game, inflation on low end players - horrible for the game.

BBs should probably change the FA formula so it releases more 10-40k players, and thus deflate their price.

Sometimes I find myself in the strange position to overpay for a player because of 1) desperate need for the team, 2) sheer frustration not to lose an auction again.

And I think I have pretty good idea on player market prices... Sometimes you just can't avoid being screwed. It makes so much fun though.

I've seen somewhere here that someone talked about "training = money", I don't know your opinion but in this moment the heaviest increasing have been on the grandpa players that never got any train since ages.

The problem still coming from micronation economy + utopia + the cut on the free agent.

The real problem is again the long term project, just take as example the bonus to be promoted on first division; 3 seasons ago you could bought a great player, this season maybe a decent rookie.

I think you can make good money from training the right type of players now.
Dead center! And new managers should understand that this is what Buzzerbeater is all about, a training game in basketball clothing. Trying to view it as a basketball sim or even a basketball management sim will only frustrate them. It is purely about training for profit.

Or, and this is a radical notion I admit, training to improve your team. Lord knows spending a few seasons training some mid-level, mid-potential guards, who you can have for 10+ seasons and still being able to win consistently in lower levels is nothing like the real basketball concept of buying 30 year old guys every three seasons.

I know of very few manager games (I have tried a bunch) where you can skip training entirely and be real competitive. Enlighten me if you got any bright examples and I'll look into that game.
Exactly! Dead center!

But you also know of very few manager games that have morphed to the point that training becomes the central activity and competing for championships becomes secondary to training. Look at the forums here, and see how training has become the center of Buzzerbeater.
