I wasnt too far off with my guestimates of your finances

(237504.77)

I was 10K short on my guess of your merchandise and fortunately for you you had more than the 700K in the bank that I worked out that you would need

I knew you were close to financially breaking even during the first half of the season, hence I brought up mid season to try and hurt your cash flow

I won that battle but I guess you won the war.

I have followed suit to you and sacked Linares who was about to turn 33 and wouldnt have sold for much more than the 217K this financial update was going to cost me. (Bugger I just remembered I was going to hold onto him for 6 days to try and win the Wombat cup, well I guess Ive lost that as well)

Grund has attracted a lot of interest from Germany and the National coach over there is trying to find him a home back home.

His salary of 249K a week is a lot but he is on the National Team, he is only 27yo and he has Marvelous Shot blocking which might be more important with the game engine changes.

Cranshaw will have to be sold as well, possibly towards the end of next week. That should clear my debt but at some stage I will have to make calls on Riviera and Aitkins who are both aging.

Who knows I might sell Lie, Ott and Donnelly as well and do a full on tank

Honestly I didnt intend to bid on Cranshaw and would have sold Linares that week and not brought Grund if I hadnt of got stuck with Cranshaw.

Total cost to HA, will be about 2 mill plus a week lost training my trainees, plus having my team put back several seasons

see thats not too bad.

to go full tilt at winning and to not win, and still only lose about $2m in the process, it goes to show the rest of us who are sitting on millions in the kitty, that we could have a tilt one season, and then have another tilt the season after and then, possibly, another after that for some of the others :)

its good to know.

draft anyone?

I should add that the 2 mill I quoted was only to put up challenge against Team Akuma.

It doesnt include the team I built that got me to the top of the conference. (Ott, Donnelly, Aitkins, Riviera, Lie and the 4 and a half mill I spent on 3 trainees),

Back in season 15, I think I invested about 5 and a half mill in the week after the All Stars game and by the day that the last final was played I think I owed about 2.4mill

Yer ok thats true, but not everyone is going to start from scratch.

maybe lets word it differently. $2m loss during a challange to another buy-up.

its still not bad. well.. not as bad as what i was expecting.

You were clearly soft this season and didn't try half as hard as you did way back in season 15 when you just beat me by five points with a team double the cost of mine and stopped me having a chance of making the ABBL in just my fifth season.

Hard to believe that I spent so much more buying up in season 15 yet my salaries leading into the finals this season were around the 950K as compared to 765K in that season

Poor Beechy, runner up twice previous but never recovered from having it taken away from him in season 15

Split J was there as was Smeltztroopers, Vios, Stone Slashers and several other notable teams

I guess if I really had of wanted to promote this season I could have sold Williams or Ryder and brought another 3 or so rentals

I was having a go at you for insinuating that you could've won if you wanted to by selling off one of your trainees and buying some more rentals. How many more did you need? Four of your starting five were rentals. Cranshaw, Riveria, Linares and Grund were all pickups after the midpoint of last season, with three out of the four pickups on the last few weeks.

On a different note - TeamAkuma dominates the MVP voting with four out of the top 5 MVPs going to Duffill, Smeltz, Maclean and Abimbola. Only Hadders PG broke the streak by sneaking in at third, dammit :D

Ky Duffill proves what legends are made of. Dominated the regular season. Dominated the playoffs. Dominated the MVP voting with unanimous votes for first place! Dominated HA in the finals! Dominates the National team and China with 33 points and 13 boards (8 offensive!) - too bad Australia still lost though!

Got a new nickname for the Duffman - The Sid Slayer! Booyah! hahaha

Duffman is like a fine wine. Gets better with age. He is certainly a late bloomer coming of age in the last few seasons.
