Hopefully even worse now. I just added what I hope is the second last piece of the puzzle with the latest Hippopotamus Louis Hainbuche. He has issues but he has skills too.

Rangas and Beasts may still beat me but I can say I have put in a good effort at least. I have upgraded 3 of my 5 starting positions and trained 1 a lot so I will be better in 4/5 positions than when I last played these two teams.

I made so many mistakes in the past, I hope I can finally get some things right. It was a tight game against the Skyhooks with it being at their arena and them putting in more effort than me things could have gone badly but a great 4th got the job done.

Plebs was the opposite. My arena and I actually put some effort in. As a sign of respect I actually sent my best possible team against you Bainsy, probably the first time this season I have done it although perhaps it wasn't perfect as I still was considering training. So it was terific to see the 22 point win even with my bench playing big minutes. I have upgraded OD by a ton so I can try and stay even with the Beasts but with your PG 2/15, SG 2/13 and SF 2/11 it looks like the extra OD is useful against you too, even if it is still way behind my ID.

To be honest I expect to beat the Rangas but lose to the Beasts. Maybe I will lose both. At least I have given it a good shot.

You will also be happy to know that I now have the highest wages in the league - just ahead of the Plebs, then ACT and Beasts not far behind. So my profits are way down:

All those seats, PR work, great fan surveys and still below the league average. The last few weeks of the season will be fun.

i wouldnt look too much into it mate because my outside scoring is wildly mediocre at best so i dont think it even compares to the beasts. well you have my measure that is for sure so im rooting for the beasts or ranga to finish 1st.

had a quick look through the league.. ACT Blaze are the highest rated team in the league, and surprisingly Many Men are the 2nd highest.. It will be interesting to see if this stacks up, and either of these teams promote :D

I am sure ur new addition adds alot to the Hippos, but he looks like a short term gap fix to me. Whether or not you promoted this season, I can see you moving him on very quick.. Good to see though that you're throwing everything you have at Promotion :D

Getting the impression that Bains still thinks he can take either the Rangas or the Beasts in a playoff matchup :D With 3 games to go, this season sure has a looooooong way to go :D look forward to watching the action unfold.

Ha, Whilst I fancy your chances against the Rangas at the same effort level I don't think you will be able to get beasts at home mate, but hey, you have come along way from an 0-4 start to the season. The hippos are having a dabble alright, I am wondering how this will progress over the last couple of games and whether I will need to make another move?

You are correct. If I win (5%) or not (95%) there will be several Hippos gone at the start of next season. In fact of the entire roster I think there are 5 guys who don't need to be nervous next season. Hainbuche will be gone for certain but I have to say I really like Ashley Garbett, he ticks just about every box that you could ask for considering his price.

Many Men are really strong. Second strongest in the league? I would still rate the Beasts higher but it doesn't matter to us, we only have to face one of Many Men or ACT and I'm sure everyone would rather face the Men.

Bains would be hoping that somehow the Rangas can steal top spot so he can beat them in the first round of the playoffs while I struggle with the Beasts. I don't think the Beasts will allow that to happen.

Hmm, it is possible and not being discounted. I will keep an eye on the TL for something that I like and may make one last splash, though funds will limit the amount I can spend.

Sammydog just made a pretty good purchase i reckon. expensive player, but he's only 21 and has a lot more to be trained out of him.
i'm a bit jealous i didn't have the funds to line that fella up with Gab Wall for a couple more seasons of training. :P

well watching all the buying that's been going on, my mind keeps changing on certain tactics.
i'm not in a position to buy anything that will help me a great deal.
i'm realistic and know i'm not promoting, but i'd still like at least 1 HCA final game :)

and you're clearly not a good match up with the hippos. your only chance was to do everything you could to make it so I finish in first, but nooooooo you've mucked that RIGHT UP haven't ya! :P
