I dont think it's a problem.
Probably it will take you a while to trust me. So I do not expect to get the code of your external website.
Think about it ... not everyone enters the external forum that they prefer to use the forum here. Once they did not receive information before the game that hurts conduct.
Bottom line - I'd love to help you without access to your site.
If you do not want it too fine, of course, but for order and for the less active members in the coming days I will write more detailed information on selected Asian Championships including number of interesting things that will add the general involvement.
:)

I think iwen's right that the mentoring system is a good mechanism for preparing the team for life after the current coach - so probably a better system to have in the second term rather than the first (and every coach deserves a second term unless they are a halfwit ;)). I think in the first term, if the coach wants to put his own mark on the team, its a good reason not to have the system.

That said, I'd be interested to see how the system would work over a longer period of time. I put the full blown mentoring system in place in my last season as coach (partially to prepare the team for the new coach, and partially because I just didn't have the time anymore). That would mean that this season's crop are the 18yos that got put through that system. I expect the fact that we have a decent team this season is more down to iwen's hard work than the system, but it would be an interesting study ;)

Well, my 18 y/o HOF trainee couldn't even get a mill on the market, so screw it, I'm keeping him and I'll get him to the NT in about 10 seasons time. :P

the market has finally ajusted after trainees being worth way more than they players they could become after several seasons of training

it was just silly

im sure iwen or whoever the u21 coach will be will be very interested in ur 18/hof dude

dont know why u wouldnt keep him & train him ur self

but after seeing how well crazyaustralian drafts i think he has my vote 4 the u21 coach

iwen u got any comeback 4 that?

General consensus, including iwen, was, sell him - but stuff it. I'll make him a gun SF instead!

My player Mr Raftery (13946379) told me he wants to run for U21 coach after our last training session.
Does he have a chance? ;o)

Mate I had a new team with crappy created players and not a lot of money. You do realize you start in division 4. I don't need a team of all time greats to cruise by div 4. That player of yours was cheap, decent for my div, and would have added good depth for a cheap salary as well.
Now let me ask you, did you take all that into consideration before posting your silly comment?

Silly comment? Righty-o then. Allow me to explain...

Mate I had a new team with crappy created players and not a lot of money.

Yes, you did.

You do realize you start in division 4. I don't need a team of all time greats to cruise by div 4.

This may sound ludicrous and unbelievable, but once my team was new and crappy too, and I bought crappy players and made poor training decisions. Took me several seasons to learn the errors of my ways, and I'm still learning.

That player of yours was cheap, decent for my div, and would have added good depth for a cheap salary as well.

That player of mine was crap, not decent for any div, and there were far better players on the market for a very similar price. Frankly I was amazed anyone bid on him - I was going to fire him, then I decided to sell him in the hope someone would be sucked in by his potential. He had glaring flaws and for about 5-10K more, you could have got a far better guy. The mere fact that you were chasing him and that you think he was a good player shows me you're not ready to coach the U21 NT - you're making the same sorts of poor decisions I made at the same time.

Now let me ask you, did you take all that into consideration before posting your silly comment?

No, clearly not :P

If you're going to nominate for the U21 position without anyone knowing you, without doing a speech, without winning anything, and having been in the game for a few weeks - people are going to make comments about it. In addition, you named yourself after the BuzzerBeater's Best tournament, and it implies you think you're the best. Whilst you may not mean to offend anyone (as you said in your own thread), it still suggests arrogance and that's not a good thing, in my view. You obviously feel differently, and that's fine. With respect to winning the basketball sim you played in the UK, well, that's good, but I can't see how it's really relevant here at all. Googling that sim produces exactly 0 results so I can't imagine it's quite the same as here with 50,000 users.

New people come into this game often, are really active and keen, and then disappear after a season or two. Stick around, advance through the divs quickly like, say, yodabig, and then I'll really start to take you seriously. You gotta walk the walk before you can talk the talk.

Also, your name "The BuzzerBeater Team" also sounds like the sort of name someone who is trying to pretend to be an admin would pick, and given that you didn't post in the forums and I'd never heard of you, I was distrusting of you.

Now you can see what I thought when I saw you were running, had no idea who you were, and saw you'd bid on my crappy player, when I framed my "silly" comment. Now that we have this all out in the open, let's end it here too - I'm not trying to be a jerk, just explaining my thought process. I welcome you to BB, and I really do hope you stick around for a long time and claw your way to ABBL - I can tell you, it's not easy and it takes ages (unless you're yodabig), but it is a lot of fun, and the NT is heaps of fun.

The best thing you can do is get involved in the forums, and try to join a good private league - the Fishbowl is Australia's best PL, with 48 Aussie teams from all Divs from ABBL to IV, so if you're interested in that let someone know. The season for that has started recently but it'll be open again by the end of this season.

Good luck!
