Here is a good question.....when I was U-21 and Swoosh was NT coach...we would scrimmage...how can a game between the NT and U-21 be counted against the rankings?

The Asian Championships may be seeded but I think the consolation tournament draw is purely random.

Still I am certain he will pop this week and assuming no injuries he will be sensational OD before the first game next season and just up and up from there.

Takayoshi Kawagichi ↑popped↑ in Outside Def. from prolific to sensational.

Mission accomplished. I have to admit that it is even sooner than I expected but I was very confident. Now I can do a couple of weeks of 1 on 1 to try and get his DR and HA even higher. I wonder how many other players on the team have at least 5+ profilic + skills and 86 TSP at this stage.

I notice he doesn't get the Nippon team advertisement but Shin Shidehara does. Perhaps it is not targeted widely enough? Would hate to miss out on some talent who we don't know about and doesn't get the ad.

I think Kawagichi is starting to come together and is looking good for the team, no injuries and good game shape allowing. My bad news is while I have a great trainer soon I will have to get a career extension trainer to support my NT guy Kaname Kouzuki. Big money drain right there.

25/3

Two teams will be bot in a week or 2 I think

2/1 Tokyo Celtics last seen 26/3 (maybe this week?)
2/1 Grooving last seen 29/3 (next week?)

They don't have much talent now although Celtics have 2 x 18s Sasuke Kogawa (25684217) a marginal talent and Norihiro Kamo (25684219) better but low potential, but if they survive until after the draft we could get some great free agents from them.

PS: We seem to have some really really crap players on the U21 team right now. Why?

Sorry if I upset you I didn't mean to (but wait until you read the smack thread I have a zinger coming for you).

I know that from time to time you have to have crap players on the team to save them from teams going bot. If that is why those guys are on the team then my humble apologies. I was wrong.

And as far as the guys I mentioned, yes they are crap, I wouldn't train them. But as far as I can see the U21 team has a great lack of talent. Isn't it true that we only have 2 decent big men next season? Couldn't even a starter potential make the team if properly trained? Doesn't the rest of the world have a fascination with Nippon players? I think it is unlikely that those crap players would get trained. But if they aren't saved it is a certainty. I just thought a low chance was better than no chance.

I am very sorry that my attempt to help find some (very marginal) talent for the team has made you so angry. I again humbly apologise. You know I think you have done a great job and I wanted you back next season as the coach (although YC will be great too).

You know I am on your side but I just like a rigorous debate for the good of the team. You know one of the differences between Churchill and Hitler?

Churchill surrounded himself with his critics and people that liked to argue with every idea and point out every flaw like Frederick Lindemann. Churchill himself had a famous quote which said, "Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things." If he could see an answer to all the flaws his critics proposed and could even convince some of them them it was usually a good plan.

On the other hand we all know what happened to anyone that disagreed with Hitler. In the end he was so surounded by "yes men" that he made numerous hideous blunders.

"Invade Poland."
"Great idea Adolf."
"Lets have a Holocaust."
"Sounds good!"
"Invade Russia starting a second front and with a no retreat policy."
"Brilliant!"

The reality is that with smaller nations, you sometimes have no choice. You have to weigh the balance between rostering players who have sucky-ass potential, but are the best available... and developing guys with potential. However, sometimes even weaker guys with potential simply don't exist.

Hell, in Wales? I've 3 guys (outta 14) with only 'starter' potential. Dearth of bigs.
