The aquad has been selected for the scrimmage against Israel tomorrow. Game is at 2:30pm if you can get on to watch.

Obviously the 5 20y/os that have been in the squad all season have made it again, Brodie+Mulrain+Maher will hopefully be deadly for us. The selection of bigs wasn't great but with 3 already in the squad it made it only made the last 2 spots hard to pick. At guard I've had problems with the lack of SG quality we have, some players have made it that ideally I don't want, I will just have to try different lineups to see what works there.

Also a call up for 19y/o Steven Ward, one of Morwood's trainees, Not going to be a star in the team, migh not make the squad sometime however he will be a player to look for in the next few seasons.

If anyone has a player that they believe should make the squad message me and I'll see if he can fit in or suggest training for them. There is plenty of time for the squad to change, this is certainly not my final squad.

As for the game, I'm not too bothered about the result. I just want to see what I have to deal with next season and over the next few weeks work out what tactics work bets for us.

I wasn't expecting to pick him but when looking round at the talent we have we had a lack of people that had defence both inside and outside. He will probably be used as more SF this season for defensive reasons, but in future seasons who knows what he could do

Even at 19, I am sure he won't disappoint, Morwood has done a great job! Thanks as always mate for your support for the U21 and NT.

We have a couple of players that lack GS but I'm hoping we can at least compete today and not just get blown out

Comparing the teams, there very similar DMI wise and salary, they have slightly better GS but who knows :-)

England U20 111-127 Israel U20

I was hoping for it to be a bit closer score wise however, Mulrain went down with an injury at the beginning of the 3rd which hurts us scoring. I chose to play patient to see where our better scorers were and to see how the shot distribution would be between Maher, Mulrain and Brodie. Maher played great, scoring 35points shooting 50%FG. MacPhorich also had a strong game with 16points, 7 rebounds.

I also never expected a player to dominate Brodie like their centre did. Brodie has pretty high ID and improving SB so seeing their C score 34 points on such a high percentage.

The game ratings do look low, however due to the scouting did to find the better 20y/o's had a major hit on our enthusiasm so it was at the minimum, maybe theirs were higher which could have been a factor.

Considering Mulrain did go down injured and played under half the game, I think 16 points isn't a bad margin. Maher had a screamer of a game and as you said, there centre was very impressive. Also thought Edie had a good game off the bench, especially with respectable GS.
I'm liking the looks of this said for next season and hopefully the players managers can continue doing a good job with their training.
