I think that maybe the GE is programmed to continue the foul-quick 3pointer until the score is tied..maybe it would be a better option to calibrate it to stop the sequence when the team coming from behind has the ball and is down by just one possession. Then it would make sense to look for the best shot possible instead of rushing it.

I totally agree!
And the same should be done when the gap becomes too large, e.g. a -8 with 6 seconds to go is very different from a -8 with 40 seconds to go.

Yeah, I absolutely understand the problems you are having...that's why I didn't mention it before..the other issues are far more pressing.
I guess either way you go with it is fine, since obviously you're not gonna wind up with the perfect Game Engine for every situation.

so wouldn`t be solution to make extra option for managers to choose
How you wanna end the game if it`s close match?
1)try to win
2)better try to extend the game...

Hope you are still working on the last minute optimization.

In this game (4107331) the whole last minute of the 4th quarter and 1st OT is pretty unrealistic, but in particular in the very last second of the 1st OT there is a real bug. http://www.buzzerbeater.org/BBWeb/reportmatch.aspx?matchi...

0:01 Team A scores a 3pt - Score 110-107
0:01 Full timeout Team B
0:00 gets off a great pass to Andrea Demetri. Andrea Demetry forces up a three from the top of the arc.
0:00 Scored.
0:00 The shot was assisted by .
0:00 End of period.

Apart that i find impossible to take a (successful) shot from the arc in only one second, but the assist was assigned to NOBODY. In the box score of the game viewer it was given to a lucky man, who was not playing.
After the game it was assigned to the player Umartu.

Thanks for the link :)
You have a point. :)
I was not a 3pt though and I still think it happens too often in BB.
(don't tell me that there are 128218 games played each week. I have only seen 4 total this week, plus 2 overtime.)

we are planning on revisiting the end game logic again.. I think the last version was better than the previous one.. and i think we still have some work to do. We didn't want to change it right for the playoffs, but we will sometime at the start of next season.

In my today's final (4173007) I score a 2 points shot at 1 second from match ending: with 2 points on my opponent and only 1 second left I think that it's done, but when the game starts, after the time-out, my opponent is trying a 2 point shot in the little area... nice thing that he receive a foul and fails the second free throw!!!

Ok, I've won and I'm happy, but I thing that a a situation like this have to be changed.

Anyway I like a lot this game, good work everybody :)

What's the problem?

Under NBA rules, the ball is moved to halfcourt for the inbounds after a timeout late in the game (I think... there are some weird rules). A 2-point shot is possible anywhere on the court in that situation... not probable, but not super rare either, IMO.
