Like, i said i have no problem with this change.

I wrote this post because some managers have said they want the end of HCA on the 3rd game. I don't

Also as I explained, it's not just the best team throwing the second game which is the problem. It's the weakest team crunching the second game to ensure there will be a third one. Now that having a third game is not a problem, they can play on the fact that the best team will tank the second game (since it seems always the case) and prepare the third game too. We may see some ugly second game in the next seasons, but also some surprises on the third.

So if enthusiasm is the problem there could be a better solution than taking away hard earned HCA: there is no more "take it easy" in the playoffs because both teams should play to win. Teams in the finals should try to win, too. Always. In each game. So why not "force" them to play playoff-CT by taking away the option "playoff-normal" for the finals?

Another option to punish throwing games in the finals would be easy, too: if a team throws a game in the finals its fans won't show up for game 2 or/and 3. This would make throwing games (out of financial reasons) silly.

Criteria for throwing a game:
- the away team plays with less effort and
- loses by 25+ points and
- didn't have its best players on the court.

I agree. But we are still open for ideas. Removing the enthusiasm options for the finals is one of them, even though I'm not sure who would profit more from this, the HCA holder or the opponent.

Where is the thread to discuss the HCA option? I looked but I could not find it. I want to vote to keep HCA throughout the finals.

If the problem is Enth why not change the way it's accrued over time? Right know, if you TIE or PON, it goes up immediately after a game and then declines towards the equilibrium level (5). Can you make it so that we have no spike after a game, but the value of GS increases gradually in the following days if you TIE? This would soften the problem of the games which are played the day after another game where Enth can be manipulated (tiebreaker in the finals and also B3 games)

Enthusiasm and GDP are the biggest weapons an underdog has in the finals. Without these the underdog may only win with a crippling injury to the favorite. I don't think we want a finals where the favorite advances 99% of the time. As the underdog you have to figure out which road game you can steal. Whether it is CT game one thinking home team normals, etc.

I don't see anything wrong with current format. If skill level is fairly even, the road team has a chance because of enthusiasm but you have to reward the best team over the course of the season with the path of least resistance otherwise you diminish the meaning of the entire regular season.
