What you.need to look at are percentages lost or gained in users.

What you need to see is any increase in users. Good luck. All you see is loss.

Similar to whats been said before and you're absolutely spot on.

Whatever anyone says about changing the game itself, the real issue is that games like BB just don't have a big draw in this day and age.

Changes to the training system has been made fairly recently here in order to not limit users in what position they play their trainees. And I hardly think we will see drastic changes in it the way I know you would like.
I agree with you.

And as said above there are many that like the training system as it is. And even if they did change it I hardly think we would see any difference in the long run regarding user trends.
I agree with you again.

All that is no reason not to even try to improve the game, though. It appears to me that the game is dead in the water. For the longest time I thought the answer to "Is BB dying a slow death" was NO. Now I have changed my mind.

Perhaps you can tell what it is that brings you back instead of leaving even though you see no future and the world's worst training system?
I'm preparing my team for being untended after this season. My supporter runs out soon and I won't be renewing it or tending the team much after that. I'll be sort of an absentee owner.

I sort of see BB as being like a MUD.

MUDs, MUSHs, MOOs, used to be all the rage... then after like WoW and games like that, who the F really wants to MUD anymore?

Its the style of game BB is its not going to appeal to everyone. On average people in general as a whole want "newer and shinier". They want "instant gratification" where they can come, sign up, throw $$$ at it, and instantly be among the world's best, and then get bored and move on to the next Shiny app.

BB is more for people that like the effort, and taking the time. basically we're sailors not motorboat people. motorboat people won't like BB vs people that like sailing. (this is a metaphor)

Then catering to those needs seems like a logical choice. Between 2 extremes there is usually an acceptable grey area which is acceptable to the most people possible. This game is very much standing on one extreme and that is the main issue.

I very much doubt that most of the current userbase would quit if some aspects (training, arena building) of the game were tweaked and made faster to cater for new users' needs, so that they can feel like they are progressing. And I don't mean small changes to one skill or another or a few more seats at the start of the career, I mean changes which have a tangible impact on a weekly basis. This kind of game must be rewarding at any stage and in particular at the beginning if it wants to survive.

Nothing of the sort has been done since I joined this game nearly 3 years ago. The devs have preferred spending their time fixing blank lineups, introducing sales tax, introducing the bid tracker etc, which highlights the fact that they are completely oblivious to this simple truth or willingly chose not to take any action to make the game more interesting/appealing to new users.

On top of not helping the new users the other issue is the lack of direction. I think it's kind of crucial to understand where the devs think the game will be in 2, 3, 5 seasons in terms of structural changes, in terms of the game economy etc. We only get small changes every season that do not appear to fit in a more general plan. THIS is the main reason behind thinking the game is doomed, even more than the loss of users.
