Agree on the UVA part, but it's not looking good... And man UNC looking like the generals or there, just making people. It was a good game, I thought both looked encouraging going into March madness.

No Notre Dame looked rather generals esque. But I digress, yeah no UVA championship, Covid is more unbeatable than the Wooden era UCLA. So the rambling wreck gets to a final, so very 2020-21. IF Carolina can pull off the next two nights it will be legend, I think they MIGHT just be destined to do it. We find out more in a few hours time..

Now onto tomorrow night. We got a problem, the 'coliseum' is kind of reserved. But I talked to me old buddy Coach Thompson of the Raleigh Senators who is going to allow us to 'move'' this game to his cozy Fetzer Gymnasium. I told him to leave the keys under the mat and to not tell the fire marshal. He told us to make sure to lock up, and flush.

Your open is of the festivities in a parking lot admits the gather gloam of the end of day settling into the evening.

Announcer: tonight we saw another chapter close in one of the great fixtures of the BB universe. We are all assigned rivals, some of us have opponents which by design are regular opponents in various private leagues. But it is rare there is what becomes a true rivalry. Such has become the case for the pride of the new river valley Deronimo and that group of generals from the gate city of greensboro. While the ownership groups of both franchises have always been bemused by what has developed over the years. The players have over the years built up disdain for the other, there are pockets of fans who over the years have become out and out vigilante sometimes spilling over into acts of hooliganism that would make any European or South American firm proud.

Tonight we will follow two sets of fans who represent for better or worse these two fan bases on their personal journey.

9:57AM, Pulaski Virginia.

Cue: https://youtu.be/cLQox8e9688

Announcer: This is Delwyn (debonair senior citizen with a gift mane of silver hair, decked in a turtleneck with a classic Black blazer with the famed DERONIMO orange shaped basketball logo over the left breast pocket) and this is his wife Doris (elegantly aging mid cut auburn hair Wearing a orange pullover emblazoned with deronimo across the center)

Cut to clip of Doris feeding a fine looking thoroughbred across the backdrop of a fine stable as you can see the misty hills in the background. Next cut to delwyn on the phone dispensing advice to one of his financial clients.

Next cut to a almost "up" like trip down memory lane.

Deloris: we met on a road trip back in season 7 when we were bumped into each other in the hotel lobby when we came down to see the boys take on the raleigh roughriders.

Del: I knew that when she knew the players better than I did it was time to get her off the transfer list

Doris : well that and daddies luxury suite

Exit to them heading down a winding road in a fine mercedes benz.

12:51pm. Sedalia NC

Cue: https://youtu.be/gqg3l3r_DRI

Cut to a the interior of a ragged looking trailer where there is a group of 5 kids causing absolute mayhem and our two protagonist failing miserably to contain the situation.

Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen this is Cletus (camera freezes on a man of somewhat indeterminate age around 40 with a scruffy looking goatee and about three days worth of salt and pepper stubble sporting shorts, a greasy generals cap and sporting a tattered old time "Stars and bars" generals uni from circa season 20 (since long retired and something management does to try and make fans forget ever existed).

And this is his wife Chloe (mid 30s ish, dumpy, dirty blond hair tied in a bun wearing a bootleg generals shirt done in a aeropostale style font sporting capris which are way to tight wearing heels that are way too high)

Cletus: hey we're not actually married

Chloe: only because your too damn poor to spring for a preacher.

Cut to Cletus playing basketball in the dirt on a hoop tacked up to a ramshackle garage.

Cletus: now Corey when the ball goes into the post you and your brother got to double up on your mom before she gets the chance to post him up and Conner boy you need to find the three point shooter.

chloe: my husband's an idiot, thinks he's the next coach donkey truth be told though is he has more toes than teeth.

Because of a conflict with something called the ACC tournament the contest was moved to Fetzer Gymnasium home of Lambini's old friend Coach Thompson's Raleigh Senators. Though the venue was changed, the tailgating parties that both franchises are renown for made the trip.

Cue: https://youtu.be/6LAPFM3dgag
415PM Del and Doris and other well to do dandified Deronimo supporters among a spread befitting their upper class standing.lots of trays wine and cheese with servants doling out delicacies such as leg of lamb and prime rib.

Cue: https://youtu.be/p0_der_5hRM
Contrast that with the raucous scene Cletus and Chloe as Coors tallboys, greasy friend chicken burgers and dogs on mini grils and even a stihl. Though the Camera cuts to Del sneaking over from a swallo6w from a jar of Cletus best batch since season 37.

715p
Cue: https://youtu.be/-QMw6cjkvyo
Cut to the inside of what is a vastly overcrowded Fetzer Gym where "seat" assignments have been thrown out the window as fans are standing on the bleachers, in the walkways of the bleachers, in the aisles between sections, even in the rafters. If there is a space to be filled, someone is there. The AC quickly does caput and combined with the body heat and exasperated by the chain smoking generals fans there is a cloud of smoke and humidity to the point where a shot literally shows the walls sweating. Cut to Del and Doris trying their best to survive while Cletus and Chloe seem actually quite content. With the heat and the air quality signs of violent undertones start to surface with other fans on both sides trying keep a lid on it as best they can as shots to the various ushers and security show a group that is not really able to get thru the commotion to defuse any situation and body language which suggest they really don't have any desire to.

Ticket manager: " this building was never built to hold this kind of crowd. But our management said let these people in.

Cue: https://youtu.be/pDUz5qrhsGw
Cut to game action along with scoreboard shots showing this game staying close early but with deronimo stretching out slowly and then eventually breaking the game wide open turning it into a rout

Announcer: as the game progresses it becomes quite obvious that the outcome is something that will not be in doubt. But with the fans shoehorned in there is no escape from the masses which means the spectators have no choice but to watch this execution play out. But instead of this game turning the crowd nasty there is a air of appreciation for what these two franchises have experienced with each other over the years.

Cut to a final shot of the scoreboard at games end. As the players exchange post game greetjngs, and even exchange jerseys a final sing of farewell goes out over the PA system.

Lol, love the VT wine and cheese crowd vs UNC salt if the earth. But legitimately good luck next season, hope you rebound soon.
