Vios you have got me feeling guilty.

Its not fair that some teams get an unfair advantage playing me when my focus is on the cup.

To remedy this I have started bidding on suitable players (valued at 150K a week and up) to have as my cup lineup and will try to play my existing team in my league games.

I believe this to be more sporting of me and will help to even up the competition so that other teams dont get an unfair advantage


I take it that means you're assuming that if you weren't focusing on the cup you would win all your games easily?

in fact, why DIDNT you do this? given ur financial situation and being in Div II, you could actually do this? maybe next season?

its not a bad idea really, seriously, maybe what ill do is save a pile of dough, and then one season if i make it past round 3/4 in the cup, ill buy a 'cup team', that would be competitive for the cup. lose $$ in salary, but then make up a bit from winning cup games, and then maybe pull off a win in the cup! its a great idea.



It will cost me a couple of mill to buy some players and have them on the salary for a couple of weeks Ideally Id like to get to next week before making the investments, but from memory my next game is the 7th round. Long Long way to go but it would certainly be nice to win a really major trophy. I am sure a few other teams might have the same idea with so few ABBL teams left and Whitebeard and Wonbats missing.

Dont you recognise a bit of sarcasim. seriously though my team has been very competitive in div 2 despite the intensive training program I have going.

That is a downside to going all out for the cup is that Id have to suspend training for a few weeks

I would not underestimate any of the remaining ABBL teams especially teams like Slam and Urmummas who I'm sure aren't scared to buy veteran monsters. Both already have 850k in salaries too. Plus there's Chumunga and Monkey looking for their first major trophy and of course you cannot ever discount an 8 time Battlers Cup Winner. Everyone's hungry, just a matter of who's the hungriest of them all! :p

And surprise, surprise this decision comes just in time for the ASG, meaning that after next week, you are very likely going to storm home. Then after the Cup is over, you'll have a monster salary team sitting around, which will allow you to roll over any competition you might face in the playoffs, on your way back to the ABBL. Haven't I been singing this song all season long??? Hahaaaaaa!

If you are going to make a move now would be the time Vios. Razorbacks hasn't logged in for a week. I think you could manage 5 wins if he doesn't return.

It would be a shame to see you drop down. Who would write the pants down review???

I understand. I will have a think about it. I would probably prefer to read it than write it. It is a good read even though I am sure everyone does their own research anyway.
