Yeah I'm not drafting again this season.
I have 32 points sitting there and have ceased scouting.
at 80% attendance my PROFIT is $114k
when full it will be more like $150k

I might be able to finish low enough next season to worry about spending my 32 points.
but i dont need to do any scouting for over a season and am happy to see that money stay in my pocket.

It's interesting that most people will be doing the same method of "neeber got that monster draftee by doing nothing, i'm gonna do the same" hahaha

hehe... i aint making the $$ to invest in it at the moment, so happy to see what happens.. last year i invested heavily, and found rubbish, so this year i am using the money i spent on nothing, on more concrete options, aka, Ledrych :D

I basically spent my points in the "scouting combine" and individually on a few 18yr old giants, I want to train a couple of big men next year so I'm hoping to land a gun at my early pick.

Would you guys say that combine is an effective use of points or was I better off individually scouting? I thought by knowing ages and heights I'd put myself in as good a position as I possibly could come draft time!

that is a great use of your points if you are looking for a certain type of player. ie. 18 y/o big guy like you said.

that is the strategy i tend to use when scouting players

The group demo can also be very enriching, but it is hit and miss, you may find a handful or more of 4 and 5 ballers that other dudes don't know about.. Looking at the majority strategy this season I wouldn't waste your 10 points on that, seems you are already going to have a heads up on at least a few of us :)

So Bains, I am thinking that may have been a decent acquisition from Z, he played Pabich in SF last match not sure about anymore which means he will have 4 of 5 starting posi's filled, gallot, new guy, pabich and extremely expensive PF.. Give him another season and he will have enough money to buy a C as well. Good for you Zed! I am still going to crush you next time we meet though :)

i would say the group demonstration would only come in handy, if after the combine you found a heap of 18 year old guys in the height range/positions you're looking for.. if when you do combine, they are all 19 or guards, save your 10 points and spend em elsewhere..

just remember stazza, talking current ability here, if you see a 5 ball 19 year old, and a 4 ball 18 year old, go the 18 year old.. in 2 years with that extra year of trainnig, the 18 y.o will be ahead of the 19 y.o.

That's great, atleast I know I'm on the right track - I had already rated the better prospect 4 ball 18 yr olds ahead of the 19yr olds :)

I'm definitely excited about the combine!!
