I admire the hard-work put into this list (and the readability), but it's inherently flawed. For example, take IV.33 242 Lions (#3 on the list), who I beat in the championship. He was in a weak division and had the ability to TIE most of his games and cruise through the playoffs, until the championship game that is...

The division you're in, molds your record. On top of that, some teams are not interested in their final record, because they take an interest in the NT or their draft pick.

Well, if you go through each team, you will find that the top 9 got promoted and the bottom 5 didn't.

Perhaps I should have articulated my point better. I wasn't referring to a team manger, with a talented team, tanking to get a #1 pick. You can still tank, just enough to get into the playoffs and have a shot at a decent draft pick. This is what I have done in a few seasons where I felt confident my team could win on the road.

Well, obviously they would be promoted based off of their records. I wasn't debating the accuracy of their record in regards to them promoting. Perhaps I mistook the intent of the thread. I was merely stating that a teams record does not make them the top teams in division 4 due to the circumstances explained in my prior post.

Frick... That one game was the difference. I would have been #8 if I had just not been so careless.

Let this be a lesson to all of you. Every game matters. If I had not went way too easy on a team in the first week of the season, I'd be in division 3 as we speak. As it stands, though, I lost to a team I later beat on the road by 36, and I'm entering my 5th season in this mediocre league...

Never know, people like RamQ, rhyminsimon, and myself have abandoned the D4

Oh well...someone in D4 could do the spreadsheet (PM simon) and could do the D4 calculations but it'll take a long time. especially if you know no algebra.
