Well when I think of somebody like Dwight Howard I believe his blocks are more and driving guards than on centers, maybe thats where its important since driving isnt as effective...just my opinion tho

Its gone beyond the argument is it useless or not.

The creators of the game argue it is valuable.

The majority of players in the game consider it invaluable.

For this to ever change it will require the mindset of a very high percentage of managers to come around to believing it. It will need a maverick manager to build a team of monster blockers and lift a trophy of significance. Otherwise if we continue as we are now, we are eliminating the skill from the game ourselves by second guessing its value (or lack of!).

it may also come into play and be magnified by that hidden "aggressiveness" attribute

well look at india's record holder for blocks.......................he has mediocre shot blocking
what i think is that the players with skills below or equal to respectable tend to give better averages than high skilled players.

The lvl of the game matters too I'd think. If the lvl of the game is really low, then such incidents may happen. My center (who i fired several weeks ago because of $3400 salary and old age) had a mediocre block but made 9 blocks when i was playing in div II. If the lvl of game is much better, then it would certainly reduce the chance of having to block shots.
