A really good prospect for our U21 next season, was just put on the transferlist

Ofcourse we prefer a Belgian team taking over this player and continueing his training!

Dear Laru3ns,

despite being the U21 manager, you can't advertise players who aren't on your actual U21/NT team on the forum. (As a matter of fact, i can't find anywhere in the rules that NT/U21 managers can advertise players on the forum either). I Asked GM-LoD the question last season if advertising was allowed, and he told me that the rules didn't state that U21/NT managers had the right to advertise players. If their would be an exception to this rule, it would have been stated in the Game manual.

However, I've also been told that some GM's do accept advertising NT/U21 players, provided that they are on the U21/NT team! This player isn't on the U21/NT team, and their for, can't be advertised, even tho he's a nice prospect.

What you can do however, is ask if their are any manager who are training a Centre, guard, SF (you name it) and who might be interested in a player. IF they are looking for one, you can ask them to contact you. Upon being contacted, you can mail the players with details. Ofcourse, always be carefull, since they can still report you for spam :P But it's hard to consider something spam if you contacted a U21/NT coach for details about a player and he replied you...

The difference was that the english players that were advertised, as far as i know, where on the U21/NT at that time. nothing stops you from taking in players during the off-season and advertising them. I've just asked a senior GM if you can advertise players who have got the little flag shown during the sale. However, i'm pretty sure that those not on your teams can't be advertised. If not, then i got some work to do in the english community.

Rules are rules. If you start turning a blind eye to one small thing, then you might as well turn a blind eye to more things, which will get you to a certain point to where you are wondering, where will the line be drawn. Rules are supposed to be respected, and each BB-staff ( be it BB, GM, LA or Mod) should try to be sure that they are respected. As a matter of fact, each member should encourage to follow the rules. the only difference is that some BB-staffmembers can edit other posts, where as others can issue official warnings.

But we are discussing things that don't have anything to do with this topic. if you want to continue this conversation, open a new one with a correct subject.

That was not my goal.I suppose there exist other countries where they post U21/NT prospects on their forum and I have no problem with that. I'm just surprised that it was a belgian GM, moreover the NT coach, who comes to make "the police". You should have closed your eyes and used your time to search the real cheaters rather than looking after futilities.

before reading any reaction to this post, I'd already like to reply.

GMs are the police. And if they notice something which is not alowed they should act.
Furthermore GMs can not read the entire forums in BB, so don't shoot if they missed something.
And also: don't shoot if they go and have a look after they have been informed about something.
And more: please do NOT request GMs to close eyes on something. It will not happen.
Belgian GMs are not there to protect the Belgian NT, nor to protect you or any other individual. Belgian GMs are there to make BB 'as a whole' better and as fair for everyone as possible.
each breaking of a rule can never be seen as futile.
Being a manager of a team, or a NT manager, or any other 'player-use' has to be seen totally separated from being GM.

I also would like to comment it is perfectly legal to make a thread with NT or even U21 prospects. What is illegal is advertising them when the are transferred.

example: you can post 'players X, Y and Z are good prospects for our future NT'
you can NOT post 'player A is a good prospect for our NT, please have a look, he's on the TL now!!

notice the diffrence: in one post there is no mentioning about the players being transferred.
Also be advised that it will NOT work to post the first example each time a prospect is being transferred. We can judge if the post is posted for information purposes (to tell people who are prospects) or when it is posted for advertising (to lure people to the TL).

Wheither Astra is an ex-GM or not, that doesn't matter. As for the posts of GM-Arsjitekt, i hadn't paid attention to those, and I assume he wasn't up to date 100% on those things either. However, unless the BB's or Senior GM's decide to change the rule, that rule will be respected. Not everyone knows all the rules by heart ( i don't know each single detail and even i sometimes need to recheck the rules on some details, because i ain't sure of them). However, i know them now, i've checked them up with the senior GM's, and the answer was pretty clear what is allowed and what not. Hence i've passed it down here and those rules will be upheld unless they are changed Joe.

It ain't because it's the Belgian community that we'll do any favors. And as for GM-Arsjitekt, i'll send him a little mail to remind him about it, since i assume he wasn't clear on it. Their is a slight problem that nothing is mentioned about it in the game manual and aslong as that ain't clearly mentioned, it's up to the GM's interpretation unless he knows the rules clearly. I've received a link to the post about advertising concerning NT/U21 players and their prospects, and they now have been added to the forum rules which can be found in the sticky, and thus shall be followed unless a BB or a senior GM tells me otherwise.

It's clearly stated in his last paragraph.

as for the posts you mention about the players on the TL: we have said seasons ago that NT or U21 coaches can announce if players on their squad are on the TL, but nobody else. Arsjitekt was U21 at that time. Reading the posts more carefully now, I realise those players probably where not on the squad at that time (but can't check that anymore), and if that is the case, he indeed was not alowed to post those.
I also hadn't noticed this with Laurens his post, but someone else did notice, so it was right to act on it.

There is no question about tolerating things or not. I spend a lot less time on BB then I used to. This is known. But it also implies I am missing a lot of what is going on. But when something is noticed, there is action. Like Revo said: if we start tolerating stuff, where will the line be drawn.

Please do not judge us on forums we are not moderating. If other Mods are not doing what they are supposed to do, you should blame them, not us.
