this is a good alternative spot to post "press releases" outside of the supporter feature i guess

Just prowling div III leagues getting some information when I come across: (39486655).
those are some pretty insane ratings at the div III level. Looking at the roster they are not very balanced. One 100k big man, a 50k big man, a 40k big man and a 30k big man. Guards are not looking so hot though. Either way how can someone afford a team like this at the div III level!? 315k salary! Im at 308k and im not making that much money per week, I find this crazy. This team did not even sell out a 9000 capacity arena in this game. They must be bleeding money right now, at least it would seem that way, just wanted to see other peoples thoughts. is this as crazy as I think it is or am I crazy? lol

Losing $$$ for sure but that team was in D2 last year so they likely have some cash saved up. Or they're going to be bankrupt before they can promote.

Still not the biggest D3 payroll I've seen. Serenity Now was over $400,000 while trying to promote late last season.

Yeah, I play him in the cup and I'll be playing starters and using normal enthusiasm. He was in my D.II last season and he's probably much closer in competitiveness with me now after I promoted and he demoted.

Yeah, but that was a roster bought just for the playoffs, this manager is trying to sustain a roster like this for a whole season, madness.

Stajan: haha thats pretty funny, the roster is not very balanced though :P

Pursuit of Perfection

Okay Ill be keeping track of the undefeated teams in div III here. I have been EXTREMELY lazy with this Canada division III thing nd im sorry, so I will start with some easy stuff at first.

III.1
Team Dragon(24900)
Been in III.1 since season 10 and finally look like they might be able to promote. This team has a great balanced starting lineup, but not very much depth at all. Got a little lucky with the scheduling as they got Jordans Jets(my favourite in this league) at home and pulled out a 3 point lead. They have had 3 single digit victories and the games were back to back to back. Should finish interconference play perfect and should not have a scare until the last game of the season.

III.4
Van Cougars(33301)
Been in III.4 since season 14 and have made the semifinals the last two seasons, but this looks like their season. Not greatly balanced, but they have some dominant bigs including Canada U21 center Henry Mills(17731423). Not too strong at the guards position. They were able to beat Crazy Bongos and their 315k roster on the road with more effort by 8 points. With Fireballs, Aeterna and Venomizer still to come and being on the road against Aeterna they still have some chances for a slip up, lets see how they do.

III.6
Botwood Raptors(24905)
In Division II from season 7-15 and then again last season Botwood Raptors are disappointed to be in division III and are proving that they do not belong here. They have some depth with their bigs, but not with their guards at all. They have a strong balanced starting lineup however including a great point guard at the div III level. With three single digit games they have had some scares. All three games were 5 points or less as well including 1 point victory against the other conference 1st place team petone hurricanes at home. Two more scary games to go against the #2 and 3 teams in their conference, but both are at home and so they should finish this season perfect.

III.7
The Shufflers(33951)
In only their third season in div III it seems mc5huffl35 has already got the hang of this game. Not only undefeated, but one of the 7 div III teams in the final 32 of the Canada Cup. On their Cup they have knocked out two Naismith teams and are going for their third this Thursday. They have not had any scares this season as a 10 point win on the road has been the closest they have to losing this season. Still have the top two teams from the other conference though and those could prove to be tough games. A very balanced and deep team has carried The Shufflers this far and they seem to be the favourites to promote this season.

III.8
Montreal Visoreds(24919)
In division II.4 since season 5 this is unfamiliar territory for the Visoreds. They have not let it faze them though. With a very balanced and strong team they have been rolling this season. One of the bigger salaries in div III and one of the deadliest rosters in the hands of one of the most experienced managers. Not one game that has been close this season and they look to continue rolling to an undefeated season.

III.9
Iqaluit Test Icicles(25029)
Iqaluit Test Icicles have been in III.9 their whole time in Buzzerbeater. Which started in season 8! Unfortunately they were put in a division where by the time they had a strong team they were in one of the toughest conferences in division III. It seems to have gotten easier with Fundamentally Sound promoting and Haaa rebuilding, but they still have some competition. A balanced roster led by a 70k monster has gotten them all this success and they hope to continue forward. Not many scares this season and should only have two the rest of the season when they play Rugrats on the road and Sony Rox ur Sox on the road.

PoP continued....

III.10
Spider Wasp(24897)
Been around since season 8 and have bouncing around division III and division IV, but now look poised to promote to div II. Spider Wasp have a good starting lineup with some balanced, but have limited depth and seem to have little knowledge on gameshape. It could prove costly, but so far they have been knocking off team after team. Beating the #1 and 2 teams from the other conference has proven their strength above everyone in this league and they look strong. Only scare was a 5 point win at home against Centennial Chargers. Should not have too much trouble with the remainder of the season and div II is only 13 games away.

III.11
MaltonHG(24908)
A part of Buzzerbeater since season 2 and apart of II.1 from season 2-14 and then II.4 in season 16. They now find themselves in division III and are trying to find their way to div II once again. Nothing spectacular with their guards, but down low have a few div III monsters and have been carried by them. No serious scares and should not have any except for December 27th when they play the other undefeated team in this league...

Soul Crushers(33141)
II.4 in season 9 and then II.3 from season 11-17, but now they are in division III against another Buzzerbeater veteran and they look to be up to the challenge. Only 9 players, but these 9 players are of div II quality and have helped this team to their undefeated status including being in the final 32 of the Canada Cup however they face off against their first competition in Naismith team Lawrence Park Panthers. No real scares, but they have #2 from the other conference and the MaltonHG remaining. Who will be left perfect after December 27th?

III.13
Montreal Fireballs(33282)
A member of III.13 since season 13 and now looking to make the step to div II. A great outside oriented roster, with balance, but limited depth. This team looks strong, but with only 10 players on the roster gameshape has been hard to maintain and could prove a problem come playoff time. A 2 point victory over C-Bridge Ballers was their only single digit victory and they have two more tough games ahaead with the other #1 team at home and C-Bridge Ballers on the road. Staying perfect will prove difficult, but Montreal Fireballs have yet to slip up and do not plan on it.

III.14
Webfoots(25133)
Division II.4 from season 6-15 and now their third season here in division III.14 Webfoots want to get back up to division II and this looks like their season. An outside oriented team, they have serious depth on the outside with some great well trained young guards. No scares this season and the only game that looks potentially dangerous is KEVcool on the road, but even that does not look to scary. Webfoots should finish undefeated and promote to div II.

III.16
Murfs Blue Devils(33497)
Murfs Blue Devils once made division II in season 14, but were relegated and have been in III.16 ever since. With some great balance and a good starting lineup Murfs Blue Devils have been running III.16. An 8 point victory on the road against Vancouver Giants is the closest this team has come to losing and their one dangerous game seems to be Dunnville Mudcats on the road, but that does not look to tough for them.
