hello champion :P

great game koop

vry impressive IS rating u got there

its funny even tho i had a better RE rating & i bet i have better rebounders at every position except sf u killed me on rebounds +15 & that cost me the game

rooney & xie both had bad nights

ur 2 rentals were ur 2 best players so maybe u should keep them & sell the rest of ur team lol

Yeah quite surprised about that tremendous IS rating...

It was a close game in the end, only won by 6. But you did well so goodluck against chumunga who has better starting bigs then I do. With HCA you should be able to pull it off.

lol they arent rentals, they will be with me for a while yet... rentals to me are 300k+ beasts.

Wheres the last minute desperation buy up on players?????

Could it be that the cost of being competitive in the ABBL has taken its toll on Managers and that even the likes of Bryce and trickster no longer have bunkers full of cash?

Tremell did pull the trigger on one guy and I bid on one as well but the final price wasn't close to my bid so I didn't win. I think most players like the teams they already have got and don't think they have much chance to beat Whitebeard or Mllama. Maybe we will regret our timidity later.

Funny that I made the only profiteering sale as well. Sold Cardil for a lot more than what I would normally hope to get for him, that and his wages off my bill has made me a lot better off but it does mean that despite his inconsistent play Matt Mottram is now my SG. The good is both Koop and Dire thought he was good enough to buy. The bad they both decided he wasn't good enough to keep. Some players just have the heart of a champion and others don't.

Tremmel wasnt on line when his bid won. Possibly he might have been hoping that someone would bid overtop of him.

yeah I'm flat broke after running at a loss for so long and getting not much when I sold at the start of the season, then had to buy some semblance of a team again

Because of the "ambundance" of free agents to buy, I reckon it is now easier to buy and team and be competitive, than what it is to sustain that team.

And having brought a competitive team the odds are that the players are going to lose value as they age.

Well I don't know who is broke and who isn't but for interest here is the current salaries right from Buzzermanager.

Team TOTAL SALARIES
Lewisham Wombats $ 861 605
Whitebeard $ 845 254
Monkey Business $ 791 932
Chumunga $ 771 513
Bell Park SuperCats $ 749 041
WA IS A DUMP $ 743 654
Guanzheng Goldfish $ 694 096
Koopasaurus $ 684 160
Billy Hoyles Boys $ 656 370
Chelsea Seagulls $ 611 619
Aussie Pride $ 573 637
Black Label Society $ 518 597
Baxter Bogans $ 381 635
CROCKERS $ 280 696
hopelessly addicted $ 257 049
Da Fat Boy Slim $ 16 154

No surprise to see Lewisham Wombats and Whitebeard ranked one and two. Monkey Business always say they mean business so maybe they will be the biggest threat as could Bell Park SuperCats. Aussie Pride and I despite coming 2nd in our conferences have fairly cheap rosters being 11th and 10th most expensive. Koopasaurus obviously had to be up there after his little slip up. But interesting to see three of the top seven salaried teams are not playoff teams but those that don't want to get relegated. Chumunga with the 4th highest salaries in the league fought hard to drop down and face the Guanzheng Goldfish and not WA IS A DUMP. The only one not competing is the Baxter Bogans who it seems have condemed us to have another season with WA IS A DUMP.

Predictions

Relegation Matches
WA IS A DUMP takes it easily in two over the Baxter Bogans who are heading to division II.
The Guanzheng Goldfish have the home court but while they were fighting to avoid this Chumunga has spent all season preparing for it. Chumunga in three.

QFs
Big 8
Lewisham Wombats will have to work against the ever consistent Bell Park SuperCats but wont lose.
Aussie Pride v Monkey Business is the game of the round and while Aussie has the homecourt I think Monkey can cause an upset here but this will be very close.

Great 8
Whitebeard v CROCKERS a first round bye.
Chelsea Seagulls v Billy Hoyles Boys will be very close with the boys having a slightly better roster to the Seagulls home court advantage. I hope HCA will be enough.

SF
Lewisham Wombats who PONd at home against Monkey Business who POCd, easy win.
Whitebeard is in the same situation as mllama against Chelsea Seagulls, home court, better enthusiasm and better team.

Finals
Lewisham Wombats v Whitebeard
Great to see two top managers who have had consistent rosters not just rentals battle it out even if it has been a bit predictable from the start of the season. Whitebeard will have both home court advantage and probably a slight enthusiasm advantage but I predict this one to be close. Whitebeard in three.
