sure. but that would not explain why there was no foultrouble issue up to season 8 and not there is one (for the same player).

btw, today he fouled out again in 29 minutes.

it could be an idea to decrease this hidden skill when the player grows in the defenses. Having a 18 yo with potential and good skills but that making too much fouls is really a pity also because he can't change. Increasing the defenses he will not make 5 fouls as average but 4 or 4,5 so he will remain a player with an homicide instinct but not a serial killer

may it have something to do with the newly implemented helpside-blocking of the inside players vs. driving guards? If this helpside block comes with a certain foul-probability this might be an explanation.

If thats the reason the attempt to increase the value of the blocking skill failed (as then higher foul probability overcompensates the slightly increased blocking probability)

Any idea why my player has had foul trouble his whole life even though his skills are better than average?

Outside Def.: sensational Handling: prolific
Driving: prolific Passing: sensational
Inside Shot: atrocious Inside Def.: awful

Hidden ability's influence the foul trouble of the players. He probably is a quite physical player, which leads to foul trouble.

Having the hidden phisicality stat is supposed to have an upside : your player makes more faults but will make his opponent foul him more often too. I must be really unlucky because my players with that stat always fouled out before their opponent. I sold two starters that were affected and my team was much better for a time, foul wise. But I have a starter now that I trained as a sub for a long time and that didn't really have an opportunity to show he had the stat. That's my problem with that hidden stat, one day you promote your guy to the starting position and he gets 4 fouls in the first half and only plays 10 minutes. At that point you're kinda f*****, your long term training project turns out to be a bust because of a hidden stat you had no idea he posessed.

Well... if the physical play should be behind it I must be extremely unlucky...

57 League Minutes were enough for him (4566648) to commit 12 fouls. However it was not enough to get a single free throw.

In my experience, physical play is the most important factor but there are others. For example, defense seems to play a role and maybe the player's experience level, too.
