Okay. Well you can't tell whether a player has reached their potential cap by looking at the DMI.

I use DMI as a rough guide to a players salary (whether they are being training or not and if so, how much they are) and other than that, it doesn't really serve any purpose.

A player with proficient gameshape will have a DMI rating roughly 10 times their current salary. So if a players salary is $20000 and his DMI is 350000 with proficient gameshape, should that stay the same at the end of the season his new salary will be somewhere close to $35000.

So to answer the question, you can predict if a player has reached his cap by DMI, but only by calculating a players predicted salary. I hope that is what you were looking to know.

It doesn't mean a player is at his cap. DMI as I understand it is a rough indicator of how your player is at a given moment. If you have no pops and are at proficient gameshape then he is at his best for that given set of stats. When he pops again his potential DMI will go up. In my experience DMI is heavily impacted by algame shape. My DMI drops by about half from proficient to strong .
