Or maybe I'm just flabbergasted that a guy who averaged 12 and 9 through the season was the supposed 9th best player last year? Anyway, enjoy the easy ass D4. I sure hope you go 22-0 + title for the risk of looking like a douche.

If ever I worry about how the results of an online basketball simulator make me look, I'm failing in real life in a big way. Not sure why you're such an angry little fucker in all your posts but I'll take it as a compliment.

Either way, I'll enjoy my ride in D IV again and be back in D III as soon as I can. It will be nice to have a salary under 150,000 with almost a third of that dedicated to one injured player. Should be interesting to see if I can find a way to win.

Ratings from my team without Mina in comparison to the other teams in the league seem to indicate that I should be okay. I might not go undefeated but I should have a nice long winning streak.

I sure hope so. That league is pretty pitiful and had two promotees last season. So you should find yourself in a good sport to get back in the relegation series in season 14.

Also, angry? Me? lol...

i have not figured out how to weigh opponent strength into the ratings. Arnett might have had big nights against weak opponents. I'll have to provide the complete list of rankings so you can see. I might just go pull up all of his stats that I recorded to check his John Hollinger Game Scores as well.

Arnett was very consistent. He may have averaged a 12, 9 but those are only two categories that play a part in the Hollinger Game Score. His HGS scores were measured against those that fell in the same group (explained below) and then normalized to show a comparison. After normalization, I then rank Groups A, B, and C against each other with minutes having no impact on which group is ranked higher than the other.

Group A consists of players that ranged from 42 to 48 minutes
Group B consists of players that ranged from 34 to 41 minutes
Group C consists of players that ranged from 27 to 33 minutes

A player in any Group would have his HGS divided by the minutes he played then multiplied by the maximum minutes he could have played within that group. i.e. Player 1 played 36 minutes and scored an HGS of 11.4. His HGS per minute would be 0.317 and he would fall within Group B. His normalized HGS would come out to 12.997, or a flat 13.0 HGS.

The kicker is that despite his HGS only rising to 13.0, he could still rank higher than a player that played the full 48 minutes because after hours of analysis, I feel confident that the amount of minutes does not have a direct impact on the players final HGS score at the end of each game. However, I feel confident enough to also say that minutes do matter on a player-by-player basis as some players play better playing more or less minutes but only a lengthly analysis project could deduce which players require what amount of minutes for maximum potential per game.

PS. In case anyone is wondering, the 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, etc., refers to an individual game and considering that there are 2 games during a weekly schedule that begins on Saturday and ends on Friday with the exception of 7.1 (Saturday game followed by All-Star Break) and 12.1 (Saturday game, final game of regular season), it seemed only fitting to label games in the said manner since my initial idea was to create a way to determine Players of the Week.

Also, just to inform everyone, I will be finishing up the Great Eight Top-25 tomorrow. I have the lists ready with the exception of some key numbers for each player in the Top 25 (minutes, Top 10 finishes, Highest rank).

Also, I'll be re-uploading a revised edition of the League rankings but none of the rankings changed; only a few small layout changes were made.

Finally, since it was not explained in the initial rankings file I uploaded, here are two categories on the charts that might need explaining.

SPOP = Score Percentage of Possible
MPOP = Minutes Percentage of Possible

Basically, the SPOP number indicates the percentage of the points a player scored as measured against maximum possible points they could have scored. For example, if a player scores 20 points out of a possible 25 in the First Stretch, well, their SPOP would egual 80.0%.

Same goes for Minutes.
